We were in Civitavecchia to catch the ferry. We arrived very early, so we decided to have lunch, but as a celiac, it wasn't easy. So my daughter started looking for places and chose this one because it was AIC certified and also because of the typical dishes! I can tell you that for me, who unfortunately am used to often having to give up many things, here I felt "normal," with the opportunity to choose and taste many typical dishes! The owners are fantastic, they make you feel like you're among friends; we chat about everything and anything as if we've known each other forever! Plus, the food is superb, the gluten-free option is top! 💯💯💯💯. So if you find yourself in Civitavecchia, I highly recommend "OSTARIA LA BABBIONA"! For celiacs and non-celiacs alike!

We stayed at La Babbiona in Civitavecchia and it was a truly wonderful experience! The owner, known as La Babbiona, and her husband welcomed us with rare kindness and helpfulness: even though we arrived at 10:15 PM, slightly late, they waited for us without any problem and made us feel right at home. The dishes were delicious, with attention to detail and generous portions. A great added bonus: they have AIC-certified gluten-free options, a guarantee of safety and quality for those, like us, who require special attention. The price was very fair, especially considering the quality and the family atmosphere. After dinner, we stopped to chat with the owners, who are wonderful, genuine people, and passionate about their work. It's a simple place but where the food is quality and I think the approach to the customer is the right one.

We booked by chance, and given the simple, no-frills feel of the place, our expectations weren't high. We were immediately changed by the warm welcome from the husband and wife team: friendly, genuine, and frank, both with us and our dog, Kyra. We ventured to try two seafood starters: fregola allo scoglio and spaghetti with mussels and pecorino cheese. The fish was fresh, cooked and prepared beautifully. For our main course, we had a tender, delicious steak. Our sweet surprise was the owner's homemade mascarpone cream and cognac—divine! Highly recommended, both for the food and the owners' warm welcome.
