Oberlechner In Lagundo

We had dinner for Valentine's Day. Location overlooking Merano from above (we'll be back to admire it during the day). Excellent welcome and elegant location. Dishes cooked to perfection. Two fillets worthy of applause. The desserts were also excellent.

Kudos to the kitchen! The vegan pumpkin cream soup was the best we've ever had. The vegan vegetable curry was also excellent, especially the bottom layer. We're not entirely sure what it is, but it tastes delicious. Since the dishes are primarily vegetable-based, they don't keep you full for very long. Offering vegan dishes is certainly a bit more challenging in South Tyrol, but at this level, there's definitely a way to create a more substantial vegan meal. If you appreciate very good vegan food and have the necessary funds, this is the place for you.

A fantastic place! The food is excellent, the service very friendly and attentive. The view is truly spectacular! Easily accessible and plenty of parking. We are very impressed. The value for money is also really good. Highly recommended, as evidenced by all the awards. Absolutely fantastic!

The dishes are very well prepared and delicious, and the service is good. They offer typical local dishes, but not only. The view is stunning.

Our favorite inn for years - Unfortunately, recently with an unpleasant experience. We have been enthusiastic guests of this beautiful inn in South Tyrol for many years. The food is always excellent - fresh, regional, and prepared with great care. The ambiance and location are simply wonderful, and until now, the staff has always been exceptionally friendly and attentive. That's why we were so disappointed that, unfortunately, we have had repeated unpleasant experiences with a particular server over the last two years. While all the other staff members were always warm and welcoming, she treated us very condescendingly. This time, after a friendly server had shown us to a lovely dining room, we were asked to leave again by that same server – with the explanation that the room needed to be set for dinner (it was shortly after 2 p.m.). There were many other guests there who were staying much longer than we were. Instead, we had to sit in a small anteroom, which greatly detracted from what would otherwise have been a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, we got the impression that hikers or guests in casual clothing aren't quite as welcome here as more elegantly dressed visitors. That's a shame, because it's precisely the combination of coziness, warmth, and excellent cuisine that has always made this inn so special for us. We continue to value the establishment very much and hope that such situations won't occur again in the future – because we actually always enjoy coming back here precisely because of the otherwise so welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

We like to come here to enjoy the view and a fruity Aperol. The selection of cakes and tarts isn't extensive, but they're tasty. A recommended stopover.

We only visited the inn for dinner. A delicious and refined venison dish! Highly recommended! A special restaurant with a stunning view of the valley.

The best restaurant in Vellau, and the Wiener schnitzel is beyond words. Peter is the 9-star chef. And the service is super friendly.

We hike to the Oberlechner restaurant in Vellau once or twice a year because the food is incredibly good—a Michelin-star level. This time I had a zucchini blossom stuffed with various vegetables (chopped very finely) on chanterelle mushrooms and a delicious foamy sauce. Afterwards, we had curd dumplings with homemade yogurt ice cream and strawberries/banana/raspberries/blueberries—an absolute dream. Since the service staff are also very friendly, the Oberlechner is a TOP recommendation... a must for anyone who enjoys excellent food. 👍👍👍
