16/10/2023: Returned after many years, only one regret not having done it sooner. Everything was excellent from the owners to the staff and the rooms. We will definitely be back
17/09/2023: Lovely hotel with a home feeling, excellent service, relaxing atmosphere in one of the best spots in Ischia! We truly enjoyed our stay here. They made us feel so welcome and relaxed. They always smile, and they're all hard-working people with a big heart.
Cons and recommendations!
Obviously, dinners at the main restaurant are as expensive as any other restaurant in the area, but the quality is really high and not made for one category of tourists.
There is no lift, so please request a room on the first floor if you can't take the stairs.
Beware of the little carts! They charge you a lot for a 1 minute ride to the hotel or anywhere around the area, not the hotel's fault. This is how Ischia works in summer: everything costs 3 times more than Naples or Rome!
The breakfast is served by a lovely lady, so be patient and don't expect to take food by yourself (except for the fruit).
It is not an abundant continental. It's a simple half Italian half continental one, with just some selection of cheese and ham and salame. I didn't mind. My husband didn't mind either, but it might upset someone who expects the usual feast of a continental breakfast. No beans and sausages here, just to be clear.
They offer half board at 30 euros and it's cheaper than any food around the area, I would recommend booking it if you don't want to spend a fortune on dinners.
The beach service they recommend is slightly more expensive than other, especially the one near Fumarole.
I wouldn't really recommend them. Better walk 10 minutes towards Montella beach and spend max 20 euros (in september) instead of 30 or 40 (always September).
There is NO MINIFRIDGE and no safe, don't expect them in your room, bring thermos to keep your water cool. The pool is small but lovely and clean! The rooms are super cute, bathroom large and colourful.
The design is tasteful and very local, totally different from the old school hotels on the island with decors from the 80s.
Again, it is highly recommended, but picture this hotel as a family business, a super clean tidy 3 stars with an expensive but very good restaurant.
If you want something more "mainstream" and closer to a resort, book a resort.
