Historic airport on the Lido of Venice, but it can only receive small private planes but it is small in size and was once a very active airport

A jewel. A great little masterpiece of rationalist architecture, as well as the gateway to Venice for those who practice air tourism. Almost a thousand meters of grass runway, with Avgas 100LL and Jet A-1 available. Possibility of hangar and taxi boat to reach the center of Venice. Unfortunately the last time I landed (June 2024) the beautiful restaurant was closed due to a change of management. The view you have of Venice upon landing is wonderful. The Venice Lido airport (LIPV), named after Giovanni Nicelli, is rightly famous among us pilots, but it is certainly worth a visit also by the normal tourist. Especially if he has an interest in modern architecture.
