Very kind and smiling staff, delicious food at very reasonable prices (a pita gyros with meat, salad, tomatoes, chips and yogurt sauce €6)

In the airy little square of San Carlo, near the perimeter wall of the Royal Palace, there opens up, as the ancient Greeks would say, a tavern, a place whose colors immediately immerse you in the white and blue Greek world of the islands, and you are immediately transported to Santorini, Crete, Kos... But it is the food, consisting of authentic Hellenic dishes, the Fix beer, the Minoan Rachi that work the magic... And you leave full and happy even with just a salad!

This place is located on Genoa's central Via Balbi, and every time we've been there, we've had a wonderful experience: dhal to drink, simple bread with tzatziki sauce, and salads with tomatoes, peppers, olives, cucumbers, stuffed chili peppers, and feta, assorted appetizers, and then delicious rose and raisin yogurt. Everything is refreshing and delicious, and it's incredibly quiet when you arrive before 12:30, and the staff is friendly and helpful. It's almost a regular stop now!

This restaurant is located on Via Balbi, just steps from the university and the Royal Palace. Excellent pita bread stuffed with lamb. The hot desserts are also excellent. Service was a bit slow, in our case. Highly recommended.

Good Greek cuisine. Excellent selection of beers, all Greek. Good value. The atmosphere is what it is, but given the location, you can't expect anything special.

22/05/2025: Casi siempre marcamos la opción "Vista Escénica" en los filtros TA, pero se nos permitió elegir durante nuestra visita a la ciudad costera de Camogli, Italia. A menudo nos preocupamos un poco por los restaurantes basados en hoteles que tememos que hayan terminado, con un precio que cubre sus gastos generales extensos, pero Il Doge valió la pena la pequeña prima. Los langostinos a la parrilla eran algunos de los mejores que habíamos probado - condimento encantador, cáscara principal cortésmente quitado, cocinado justo para estar tierno y jugoso. Tenía la pasta de mariscos que era delicioso. Una ventaja adicional era que su terraza tenía toldos y el clima pronosticaba algunas duchas que pasaban por allí. Así que pudimos sentarnos bajo su protección y disfrutar de nuestras vistas panorámicas a pesar de un toque de inclemencias del tiempo.
12/03/2025: Magnifico salone affacciato sul golfo. Servizio impeccabile di grande eleganza. Cucina dí squisita raffinatezza. Cosa si può volere di più? Torneremo.

12/08/2025: I've had the pleasure of tasting the delicious cakes prepared by this historic pastry shop in Sestri on several occasions, and I immediately fell in love. The fresh pastries are equally excellent and high-quality. You absolutely must try the Mojito cake (or a single portion), which is probably only made in the summer. It's exceptional, perfect, and you can taste the flavors of all the ingredients, perfectly balanced. I love it!!! The owners and staff are always welcoming, friendly, and kind; you can see the passion they put into their work. Undoubtedly my favorite pastry shop in all of Genoa.
14/07/2025: A historic pastry shop and shop in Sestri, I remember it well already in the mid-seventies when I was just starting elementary school. Then, over the years, and especially with the renovations a couple of years ago, if I'm not mistaken, it also became an excellent café with the pastry shop as its "pièce de résistance." If you ask Germana or her pastry chef brothers (I went to high school with Giorgio!), they will be able to advise and help you with anything (with the utmost expertise and courtesy of those who have been in this profession all their lives!), from cakes to pastries, and with a variety of prices... obviously, the better the product, the more you pay. I've read of people who complained about this very important factor, but I can assure you that, as already said, just ask for an estimate first and then they will adjust based on your needs, as is done everywhere nowadays!
