Each dish is well structured, satisfying at first sight and delighting the palate. Through our real estate agent Caterina Magno from the Bonifazi agency, we met the extremely nice and charming Antonio, who helped us a lot with our first steps in our new home. Antonio speaks fluent German and is a very friendly and competent waiter in the “KUMI” restaurant in Gallipoli. And so it was no question for us that we would visit this restaurant for dinner. Overlooking the Ionian Sea... »KUMI« is a tribute to fusion cuisine that creates... beauty from the interweaving of distant gastronomic cultures linked by a love of the sea. “KUMI” is a very fine restaurant where the Japanese tradition and the treasures of the sea of ​​Gallipoli merge to create an irresistible beauty for the eyes and an unmistakable taste for the palate….” We can only confirm these words after our visit: You not only see, but you can actually feel that sushi is the world of “KUMI”. The dishes are of the utmost elegance and what the eye sees is confirmed when consumed. You experience a real taste explosion in your mouth, you feel how much love the dishes were prepared with, and you experience the incredible freshness of the ingredients used. In addition to great sushi creations, we also enjoyed excellent fillet of beef at “KUMI”. And so it’s not just sushi lovers who get their money’s worth at “KUMI”. The »KUMI« impresses without reservation with the excellent taste of the variations on offer, but also with its very stylish ambience and a great view of the sea. Antonio guided us through a wonderful and unforgettable evening with his kindness, his knowledge and his explanations of the different types of sushi. For sushi lovers, the “KUMI” in Gallipoli is an absolute MUST. We will spend our twilight years in Gallipoli from mid-2025, and we will certainly come to “KUMI” again and again, enjoy extravagant sushi & Co. and great wine and feel very comfortable there. Cozy place serving very pleasant oriental cuisine.

Very good sushi. The tuna sashimi, in particular, was incredible. The fish was extremely fresh. The service was attentive and very friendly. The price is what you would expect to pay for good sushi.

Excellent food and a nice place, only that the service is a bit lacking because the food didn't arrive at the same time, it happened that one was eating and the other was watching and it's not a good situation...

Fine and well-kept place, competent, kind and helpful staff, the sushi is excellent and the fish of undoubted quality, but I didn't find anything special about it. The menu lacks imagination, I took two rolls which from the description appeared different but were substantially the same except that in one there was raw salmon and in the other tempura prawns. The furikake roll and dragon roll 2.0 were excellent even though they included teriyaki spheres which were replaced by sesame seeds as they were "out of stock". For the rest, the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing, we had a great time.

Nice to find sushi in a tourist location saturated with traditional cuisine which is also remarkable in every aspect. From the location, to the cuisine with fresh ingredients, to the service and the variety of wines. I suggest. The dessert amai was also excellent. We will be back to try new dishes.
