A lovely alpine hut to stop for a break after a hike. A large selection of food and drinks, but nothing exceptional. The price/performance ratio is decent. It's a shame when local guests (or the owner?) park their pickup trucks right in front of the terrace, blocking the view, even though there's plenty of parking space about 30 meters away.

Nice location, plenty of seating, clean outside too. Delicious fried apple rings, fries, and beer. Very kind, they let us eat our sandwiches.

Enjoy authentic Alpine specialties in the shade or sun. All products are homemade, and the taste is proof of that. You can arrive by car, bicycle, or motorbike.

Sosta perfetta dopo l'escursione panoramica nei prati del Latemar: che pace! Abbiamo mangiato molto bene!!! Ci siamo poi rilassati sulle sdraio, accarezzati dall'aria: non sammo più voluti rientrare a casa.

12/11/2025: What a view! And what a Kaiserschmarrn! For me, the best in the world. A true culinary delight. The host family is incredibly friendly, and Mrs. Zmailer has received numerous awards for her creations, especially those using local herbs, such as her nettle soup and dumplings. It sounds unusual, but it tastes unusually good too! 👍 👍 👍 And if, for whatever reason, you don't want to eat here, you should at least try one of the excellent spritzers made with local berries—they're fantastic! Sitting at Zmailer's, enjoying the view, gazing into the distance at the surrounding mountain peaks of the Merano Basin, the Val Venosta, and the Val Passiria, and simply letting things be... that's all you need to be completely happy! 😀😃🙂

15/09/2025: We were there yesterday. There's construction going on. Unfortunately, you won't know what's closed until you go. But I think it'll be great there in the future. More chalets are being built.
