I arrived in Cirò Marina with a very specific mission: to find an excellent rosé from an independent producer and to eat authentic sardella. Two goals, one trattoria. At Max's, I told the chef what I was looking for, and within minutes, he made my dreams a reality. The result was a bruschetta I'll never forget: figs, provola cheese, raw shrimp, sardella, and a little salad for balance. A simple idea on paper, but one that showcased what's not surprisingly called the "caviar of Calabria." It was one of those dishes that makes you smile at the first bite. I think I'd been waiting for a lunch like this since I was a child, without even realizing it. All accompanied by an excellent local rosé, expertly recommended and perfect for completing the experience. If you're passing through Cirò Marina with a desire to savor local products interpreted with intelligence and without unnecessary complications, Max's is definitely worth a visit. For once my food hunt ended quickly!

We arrived late at night, when they were supposed to close, but they still took care of us and served us very good pizzas and a good salad. Good and reasonably priced food.

I happened upon Max Trattoria Enoteca by pure chance. I'll start by saying I arrived late (3:00 PM), but the owners were immediately available to cook. I didn't ask for the impossible, given the time. I asked for a seafood appetizer and a pasta dish. Seafood carbonara pasta and a seafood appetizer. The composition was excellent, and the pasta was cooked fantastically, with a perfect creaminess. Highly recommended, also because of the comfortable atmosphere and attention to detail, reflecting the place's origins and Greek ancestry!

This trattoria is highly recommended. We ate there twice during our holiday. It's a beautifully decorated and cozy restaurant. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. And most importantly, the food was delicious. We'll definitely be back!
