The experience at Mater was a bit confusing. The waiter misunderstood our allergy concerns and first brought a vegan dish by mistake. He corrected it and offered the new one for free, which was nice, but a drink we thought was complimentary ended up on the bill.

What a great little find off the main Pantheon area (which is chaos and day). Its not fancy and doesn't play to being otherwise, no other place gives you and beer or spritz with something nice to eat for 2 euro more, and to be honest it's great "pub grub" thats refreshing when you want simple and enjoyable. The owner is fantastic and always here working with such great staff. We came back everyday because it was just a fantastic atmosphere to decompress, drink and relax.

In the center of Rome, an excellent aperitivo and a wide selection of pizzas, arrosticini, supplì, and burgers. Very friendly staff.

We visited Rome for 10 days and ate at Mater a few times to get a nice breakfast for a really great price. For 8 euros, I got eggs, toast, and bacon with some leafy greens. You can also get a Belgian waffle with Nutella or whipped cream and maple syrup. Also, the owner and staff are super friendly and hospitable.

It’s a very nice place with good food at a good price. The service is super okay! The Aperol is great and what I appreciated the most is the fact that it a clean space with a clean bathroom!!! Big Like 🙌

Best bar i have ever been. The flair, the food, the waiters and the drinks. I can recommend the Mater-Spritz. Wow. Also the Matermisu is perfect. Believe me , it was great. And dont tell the waiters that lazio Rom is better than AS Rom :)

11/10/2025: On my nephew's recommendation, we went. The dinner was delicious, the pizza was amazing. The tiramisu was delicious. I'd go back to try the other delicacies. Congratulations!
05/09/2025: With a few small concessions, I'm able to give this place 5 stars. The place isn't very large, but it's cute and pleasant. Clean. Well-managed, with friendly service and a willingness to offer recommendations. In addition to pizza, which I haven't tried, they offer a meat menu and various accompanying options. Some of the appetizers are also very interesting. The meat was very good, well-cooked and well-aged, as described before ordering. They have an extensive wine list, and excellent beers, too, which isn't always a given. The prices aren't cheap, and I think some dishes are a bit overpriced, but overall, I find the other prices reasonable. For a place that offers slightly more select products, it's acceptable.
