During our stay in the heart of Cilento, we had the pleasure of dining (and staying!) at "Maracucciata," a restaurant that is much more than just a place to eat: it's a journey through the authentic flavors of Cilento tradition.
The signature dish, as the name suggests, is maracucciata, a local specialty made with maracuoccio, an ancient local legume expertly enhanced in the kitchen. Every dish we tasted was a concentration of authenticity: genuine ingredients, simple yet flavorful recipes, just like those of times gone by.
A great added value is undoubtedly the owner, who, in addition to passionately managing the restaurant, also hosts the apartment where we stayed. His warm welcome and attention to detail made the experience even more enjoyable.
The homemade digestifs are unmissable, especially those with myrtle and local wild fennel: a true finishing touch that reflects the history and aromas of the area.
In short, Maracucciata is a place I highly recommend to anyone who wants to discover the authentic flavors of Cilento, through authentic dishes, sincere hospitality, and local produce.
During our stay in the beautiful Cilento, we had the pleasure of discovering a true gem: La Maracucciata, a restaurant that showcases the region through authentic dishes and authentic flavors, just like in times gone by.
The undisputed star is the maracuoccio, an ancient local legume that gives the restaurant its name and is showcased here in a truly delicious traditional dish. But every dish we tasted confirmed the quality and care with which the products, all locally sourced, are selected and prepared.
Making the experience even more special is Nino, the owner not only of the restaurant but also of Case di Nino, where we stayed. His hospitality, passion for cooking, and love for his homeland are evident in every detail. An added bonus? The artisanal digestifs, prepared by him with myrtle and local wild fennel: authentic, fragrant, and perfect to end a meal.
A place I recommend to anyone seeking an authentic experience, full of authentic flavors, traditions, and a sincere welcome. A taste of the most authentic Cilento, hard to forget.

The exceptional maricucciata (polenta made from maracuoccio flour and whole wheat flour with croutons sautéed with onion and other ingredients) and other dishes, as well as excellent pizzas, are a must-try. The staff is friendly and helpful.

A place I discovered in late September thanks to the recommendation of other shopkeepers in Marina di Camerota.
How wonderful it is to find places where the food tastes good and is made with artisanal care!
The maricucciata (a local specialty) is a must-try: delicious! But everything else is worth a visit!

We went for dinner for the first time on the owner's recommendation, and it was truly a good recommendation. We ate there every night. The value for money was good, and the food was excellent. Almost every night was seafood. We only tried the grilled meat once, and once the pizza, which couldn't compare to real Neapolitan pizza.
The fish was excellent, starting with the appetizers. The first courses were really good, and the grilled and fried fish were also very good.
The waiters were very friendly and polite, attentive to everything you asked for, and very helpful.

The restaurant is just steps from the center, easily accessible on foot. We ordered a Cilento antipasto, a maricucciata with broccoli and sausage, a grilled meat, and an apple pie. Everything was delicious, though perhaps a few pieces of the grilled meat were a bit rare. Everything was served very quickly and with great kindness in a very natural and peaceful setting... highly recommended!
