It's tasty, but the presentation is very spartan. Wet wipes for washing hands before and after the feast would be useful. Eating in the dark is nice on a romantic date, but not always. Fish with bones are better seen.

I'll be quick and cynical. When I want a satisfying fried seafood dish, this is the place to go. Last night I had a heart-warming fried calamari, accompanied by a portion of cod (fried, of course). The great thing is that it's not heavy at all, and you can tell right away from the light, clean color of the golden brown. For me, the absolute number one kiosk 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🏆🥇

One of the best fried fish I've ever eaten: perfectly crispy, dry, light, and with a perfectly balanced mix of calamari, shrimp, and small fish. Every bite truly tasted of the sea, without heavy batter or overpowering oil. A generous portion, served piping hot and with a care that makes all the difference. Mare Matto is a guarantee for those who love well-prepared fish. I'll definitely be back!

Returned with friends after trying it previously. Mare Matto is a guarantee. We ordered three large mixed fried dishes, excellent quality fish, and quick service. The fried food wasn't heavy; you could tell the oil had been recently changed, even though it was late in the evening and almost the end of the day. Eating it at the tables along the pier gives you a typical Livorno atmosphere. The only downside was the pigeons around, but with fried food this good, it's understandable that they'd be attracted.

Top experience for those who want to try all the culinary surprises that my smiling motherland Livorno has to offer, this little shack obviously cannot be missed, just as I did not fail to keep the promise I made on May 1st when by mistake I ended up somewhere else, not the other shack but the restaurant in front of the port, for not wanting to wait the well-deserved 40 minutes to eat the best fried seafood in Livorno, in my opinion... I already can't wait to go back and have a giant portion this time

07/09/2025: We ate deliciously, from starters to fried foods. I highly recommend it to all fish lovers and not only. The staff was friendly and Angela was very kind.
07/09/2025: The location is really nice, right by the sea. The food is excellent, with a predominance of fish and seafood, as expected. We went straight to the secondo (secondo) with the fish of the day: Spigola (sea bass) cooked very well on the grill. The salad was also very good, and the baked potatoes were not too good. If I have to point out a flaw, it's that the fish takes almost an hour to cook (it's the whole fish), so I suggest informing the customer in those cases, as not everyone wants to wait that long while on the beach. Aside from that, everything was very good, including the service and the wine. The price isn't cheap: with two glasses of wine and a shared baba, it was 109 euros, which seemed a bit steep to me.
