Excellent appetizers, the tasting menu is highly recommended. Book a few days in advance, as it's always busy. The fish and wine are excellent. Excellent value; you won't find places like this anymore.

You can't leave San Michele Salentino without eating at MARE BLU. EXCELLENT food, from raw to cooked, the place is spotless, and the owners, Loredana and Mauro, are incredibly welcoming and kind—it's impossible not to love them! We had a truly wonderful evening with friends. We'll be back as soon as we have the chance.

A restaurant in the heart of the small community of San Michele Salentino... a seafood restaurant that's always top-notch. I always return and try something new every time. A culinary experience worth living. The owner, Amauri, is always friendly and even caters to us with dishes that aren't on the menu.

Excellent, excellent, excellent, enchanting location, super service, lunch with a view of the castle, nothing more to add, recommended? More!!!!!! Returned after a year, everything I wrote confirmed and endorsed. Highly recommended.
01/11/2025: A warm welcome unlike any other, excellent and plentiful food, and excellent service. Nothing went wrong. We returned here specifically from Lecce and will return as often as we can. Definitely.

10/09/2025: At the pinnacle of Puglian dining, this restaurant's cuisine is undoubtedly a testament to tradition combined with the quality of its carefully selected and authentic ingredients. A sincere thank you to all the staff for the splendid experience they created with our 25th anniversary dinner on September 7, 2025, with a table set for 25 people, all of whom were completely satisfied at the end of the evening. Thank you so much.
21/07/2025: Il Fagiano remains one of the few beautiful, classy places, with consistently refined yet unfussy cuisine. Ideal whether you want to enjoy an excellent lunch/dinner or plan a reception, its legendary dishes haven't changed much over time; they've evolved and improved, but they're still a guarantee of excellence! My only regret is the retirement of their legendary pastry chef! (Not that the desserts aren't delicious anymore, but...the legendary Angelo....) I recommend everyone to experience Il Fagiano; you'll tell me more later.
