Mama Chely In Castro

I went last night on my way back from Val Camonica, and I have to say it was a surprising experience. I know Mexican food quite well, and honestly, I had low expectations given that there are so few Mexican restaurants in Italy. I was completely blown away... the quality of the food was amazing, incredibly fresh, and the flavors balanced. The dishes and courses were truly flavorful and tasty! The service was excellent, and the staff was attentive. I will definitely be back!! Highly recommended!

A Mexican restaurant where you can feel the family management, in a positive sense, where there is the care of a person who cares about making things as if they were at home with guests they care about. I mentioned one person, but in reality there are more than one. Even the guy in the dining room, Mama Chely's son, with whom we exchanged a few words, is very pleasant and knowledgeable about service. Excellent food, super burritos (fresh and excellent quality meat), mouth-watering salsa macha, average portions and prices. Don't rush; if you come here, enjoy the tranquility. I expected a more boisterous atmosphere, in the spirit of Mexican food (not that I minded, on the contrary), but instead it is very soft, starting from the background music, "tourist" decor with masks of the dead and typical and original sombreros hanging on the wall. Gorgeous tables and chairs, I envy those carved wooden tables... Recommended place if you are in the northwestern part of the lake.

Lovely Mexican restaurant with great food and excellent service. A real change from the usual Italian cuisine. Definitely worth a visit. The value for money is okay, and the portions are reasonable for the price.

Excellent food, and excellent service, both attentive and friendly. A lovely place near the lake where you can enjoy good Mexican food in a relaxed atmosphere. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last.

Authentic and delicious Mexican food. The waiter was very kind and attentive, working alone with a full room. He still managed to serve us efficiently and courteously. Highly recommended!

I went to this excellent Mexican restaurant last night. I really appreciated the option to replace the cow's milk cheese with a plant-based, vegan option! They also have a dedicated menu for vegetarians and vegans. I had quesadillas with plant-based cheese and avocado, guacamole to share, and ceviche as a starter. Everything was really good! I wasn't 100% sure about the quesadillas, but you can choose what to put in them! The ceviche was delicious. The only negative is the quantity of food, which is really small compared to the price! Otherwise, I would definitely recommend it, especially for the special attention paid to vegans and vegetarians, which is always a plus! PS: The staff is incredibly kind!
