I went to Malga Ora for lunch on Sunday and I have to say it was a pleasant experience. The service was quick, despite the crowds.
In my opinion, the cuisine focuses a bit more on quantity than quality, but overall the result was quite satisfactory.
The prices are in line with those of a mountain hut, so absolutely reasonable considering the generous portions.
If you're hungry and looking for a place to eat a lot without too many expectations of haute cuisine, Malga Ora is for you.

Typical South Tyrolean delicacies. Super delicious and top-notch service. But you do have to walk a bit to get there.

This mountain hut, especially suitable and recommended for families with children, can be reached directly by car, but a beautiful and easy walk starting from the Passo Lavazzè parking lot is also possible. It's just over 5 km of easy dirt trail through woods and clearings. On the way back, you can shorten it to 3 km, ending with a short stretch of asphalt road to reach the parking lot.
The mountain hut offers excellent food and plenty of outdoor seating with comfortable benches and umbrellas. In front of the hut, in fenced meadows, you'll find many animals, including friendly donkeys and even llamas with adorable babies. There's also a playground for children. Highly recommended.

Malga without much interest and above all very poor quality. This is surprising because most of the Malgas in the region serve quality dishes.

We arrived after a long hike and were very hungry... As soon as we entered where the tables were outside, we realized there was very little of the mountain hut, so given how tired and hungry we stopped anyway. The food was mediocre, and without asking or writing it down on the menu, they put mushrooms in the tagliatelle, and in the boscaiolo (pasta) they put grated cheese on top... Let's say it was edible, but we definitely won't be back. Fast service, a place like a municipal canteen. Too bad.

A lovely mountain hut for spending time with friends. Delicious strauben with blueberries. Except that, at a certain point, the workers closed the umbrellas to signal us to leave.

Interesting location 3km from the Lavaze Pass with mountain views. We ordered a half portion of pasta with tomato sauce, a mountain platter, and a trio of dumplings plus side dishes for about €50 total. The mountain platter of polenta, sausage, mushrooms, and melted cheese was very good, and the trio of dumplings were decent. Excellent, friendly, and very fast service.
