We visited this small but welcoming restaurant. The owner, very attentive and knowledgeable, served us with care and professionalism. We recommend it for traditional Lucanian cuisine.

An intimate restaurant that brings the flavors of home. Everything is handmade by the owner. We tried the Lucanian appetizer, a first course, a second course, and dessert, all delicious. We'll definitely be back.

The place is very small, seating about twenty people. We were passing through and needed to grab a quick bite and leave. Inside, you could smell smoke, as if they were smoking inside. The bathroom is dilapidated, and I even found animals. The table was small for six people, and they didn't know how to fit everything... beer, plates, glasses... limited menu. They were offering a 50% service charge. We ordered four pizzas and a meat dish. They charged us two red pizzas for children, with nothing on top, just tomato sauce, like two elaborate pizzas, or 10 liters each! I understand the 50%, but it's not fair to increase the price of something just to raise money, drinks and covers aside from the discount. The pizza was good anyway.

The restaurant is small, intimate, clean, and tidy, a bit cramped and unsuitable for large tables, but better suited for 2-4 diners. Jacopo is an excellent chef who offers flavorful and harmonious dishes, based on fresh, high-quality ingredients, and prepared to order. This has the advantage of always ensuring tasty, well-cooked food, but the downside is that it requires longer-than-average wait times, especially when the restaurant is crowded (we're talking about a dozen seats, maximum). Therefore, I recommend visiting Lucaneria only when you're not in a hurry, but rather consider this an opportunity to enjoy the cuisine in peace. Moving on to ratings and reviews, we tried: pappardelle with white ragù and mushrooms, rating: 9- (I would have preferred a slightly thinner pasta shape when there's no tomato sauce, but still really good); guancia al vino rosso, rating: 9.5 (excellent); Baked pork ribs, 8.5 (the heat was a tad too high for browning, but the meat was tender and flavorful). We'll definitely be back, but we won't rush it.

A very intimate restaurant, where it's rare to have a quiet conversation. It has just a few tables and is perfect for couples or small groups. I appreciated the menu, which is different from what's usually found in local restaurants. It features references to Lucanian cuisine, hence the name, and features the famous crusco pepper. There's also a special vegan menu. There's a good selection of wines, and craft beers are also available. The service and timing are appropriate for the ambiance. It's not a place where you can be in a hurry, but your palate will be amply rewarded. I plan on returning to try the pizza; having found the focaccia truly delicious, I expect the pizza to be just as good.

One word to describe it all... wonderful. Typical Lucanian products and freshly prepared dishes. It's true, the wait is a bit long given the freshly prepared food, but that's easily overlooked when the ingredients are top-quality and the person who knows how to combine them is a master. Truly top-notch.

My boyfriend and I went here for lunch. Wanting to try more than one item on the menu, we shared an appetizer, a first course, and a second course. The appetizer we chose was the Lucanian tasting menu, which I must say was amazing—a five-course meal that was mouth-watering. They even brought us their homemade bread with it. 😍 For our first course, we opted for the tagliatelle with white ragù and cardoncelli mushrooms, which was also balanced and delicious. For our second course, we had the ribs, which were simply fantastic. The meat, cooked to perfection, was like butter. Considering the quality, the prices are excellent. The place is small, with just a few tables, but it deserves to be always full. I also saw they offer a vegan menu and pizza. I hope to return soon to try everything.

I went there with my friend, the owner, Jacopo, who was very kind. We ate very well. The Lucanian cuisine was excellent, but I recommend the appetizers, which were plentiful and very good. We had that, a first course, and a second course, all very good. The peperoni cruschi were as good as they are in Basilicata. I highly recommend them.

Everything was truly delicious. I highly recommend the five-course Lucanian appetizer, shared between two people (no problem, as there's so much), and topped with focaccia to fully appreciate the sauces for each dish (soft, warm, and flavorful). Then I had a first course, and my partner had a second course, the cheek in wine, which was incredibly tender. The portions here are a little smaller than average, but honestly, that was fine with us because we were already full after the appetizer. The place is small but very cute and clean, and the owner is very kind. I recommend it to everyone.
