At first glance, it’s unassuming; some rickety outdoor tables and plastic chairs, a relaxed vibe, the sound of locals chatting and laughing in the warm Salento air. But don’t let the laid-back look fool you. Behind that humble, some might say faded, exterior lies a pizza experience so divine, it might just bend your understanding of reality. The crust? Crisped by angels. The toppings? Overflowing. We're not talking about stingy little sprinkles here, Lu Salentu lays it on thick. Generous, glorious, unapologetic abundance. And then there’s the basil. Grown right there, in pots by the kitchen. You can literally watch it go from bush to pizza in under a minute. It's so fresh, it practically sings. But what really seals it? The people. Everyone is warm, welcoming, and clearly proud of what they do - and they should be. Because what they do is create the best pizza in Tricase, which probably makes it the best pizza in Puglia, which is likely the best pizza in Italy, which very possibly makes this the best pizza in the entire world.
