The best Italian restaurants I have ever been.

A very good restaurant, with excellent cuisine, good wines and professional staff.

We recently stayed at Locanda Capolago and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The rooms are elegant and comfortable, tastefully and elegantly furnished, all enveloped in fragrant fragrances. The cleanliness of the rooms is impeccable. The hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful, always ready to satisfy my every need. The breakfast served in the morning was rich and varied, with fresh, high-quality products. We also booked for dinner, and every dish met our expectations. We WILL RETURN over and over again.

Last year, we had a wonderful meal here and a pleasant evening. What a disappointment yesterday. The food was reasonable, but the service was impersonal (especially the waiter). The starter and main course arrived quickly one after the other. A good wine was recommended, though. Everything was rushed, and there was no chance of a chat or a smile. Dining out is an experience, and if the service is disappointing, it really puts a damper on your evening. Unfortunately, I won't be eating here again.

We went for a nice dinner as a couple and the food was good.... But..... When we ordered drinks we asked for a half bottle, because we had to drive home and the waiter, instead of understanding that we didn't feel like getting drunk with our meal and potentially losing our license for driving after drinking a bottle of wine he implied multiple times that we were just looking for a cheap option and that we were poor... He then proceeded to tell us what wines we could order, because they only had a few wines that were on the menu... Then the food order... We wanted to share a starter, but again, the implication that we couldn't afford two plates of food... Then the main order... I was not brought what I ordered (the vegetarian ravioli), but was brought the ravioli with anchovies. I should have pointed out that I'm vegetarian, but figured that I didn't need to disclose that and just order vegetarian things off the menu.... I didn't realize that it was the wrong dish that was brought until I had already eaten one raviolo and thought it was odd that it tasted fishy... I gave the plate to my wife to finish as I didn't feel like dealing with the waiter who had already been rude to us and had yelled across the restaurant at the other waiter who was there. When we left the waiter asked if the food was good and we said yes, but I said that if there is fish in something it should probably say it on the menu (I didn't realize he had sent the wrong order to the kitchen at this point)... He offered to show me the menu where it said it had fish, but he didn't actually get the menu. I went to get the car and my wife asked to see the menu to see if maybe I looked at the menu wrong. No, he just brought the wrong dish and then proceeded to argue with her, him saying that that's what I ordered. The food was good, the wine was good, but the waiter was pretty awful. (And no... We're not tourists, we live here and we're Italian... I just don't like writing in Italian...)

We only came for dinner; we didn't use the hotel. The service was quick, precise, orderly, and respectful. We had the paccheri and the octopus tentacle. The paccheri were good, but the tentacle was amazing 😍, I've never had better octopus! We didn't take photos because we enjoyed the dinner, but it was also a feast for the eyes. It's not easy to see from the street because it's inside a portico, so you have to look for it on Maps. Still, recommended!

We stayed at Locanda Capolago for 3 nights and were thrilled. The restaurant is truly excellent: refined dishes, well executed and simply delicious. Almost the entire menu is naturally gluten-free, and this is precisely the reason that pushed us to choose this structure, in addition to the fact that it was an excellent starting point to continue our motorcycle trip. The hotel is very well-kept. The rooms are tidied up very quickly while you are having breakfast, and every day all the products used are refilled (soap, cotton buds, etc.), in addition to a complete change of towels. There is no minibar in the room, but in the small hall you can freely take bottles of fresh water: a rare and truly appreciated attention! The breakfast is excellent, with dishes prepared on the spot, also in gluten-free version. I loved the pancakes (not gluten-free), but there was really a choice for all tastes. The staff is very kind and we felt at home. Only note to consider: the location is not central compared to other areas of the lake. Colico is quite isolated for those who follow a gluten-free diet: during the day the restaurant was closed we had to reach Lecco for dinner, and for lunch we often moved towards the Lecco-Como area. For us, even traveling by motorbike, it was a bit inconvenient. Having said that, for the quality of the welcome, the services and the restaurant, the Locanda Capolago undoubtedly deserves 5 stars!

Davvero una bella esperienza, ottima cucina, ottimi ingredienti ed accostamenti, ben impliattati. Bello il locale, veloce, abile e cordiale il servizio. Mi piace anche la cucina rustica della zona, ma a parte qualche piatto locale di lago, questo non è il posto. 4 stelle solo perché l'ho trovato leggermente overpriced, d'accordo la cucina di qualità ha necessariamente un costo, ma qui superano, pur di poco, locali di pari o leggermente superiore qualità anche di Milano e Venezia

abbiamo pranzato con la famiglia a Pasqua. Ottimi i piatti scelti fuori menù pasquale con particolare attenzioni per “menù gluten free”. ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo-quantità’ di alimenti. complimenti allo Chef. molto carino l’ambiente e la cantina “prive’ “. un poco lunga l’attesa ma del resto…giornata particolarmente intensa.
