An inn with a modern twist on old-world style... understated, elegant, and absolutely welcoming! The welcome is unique, with a family-like yet highly professional tone! The open-plan kitchen is so clean it doesn't even seem like there's a glass partition separating the rooms! The menu is somewhat representative of what's described... EXCELLENT is the adjective. The location is breathtaking, and I won't add anything else. 100% recommended.

PLEASE NOTE: the people who used to run this place back when this review was published, have since relocated to Parallelo 41 in the hills behind Verbania in Vignone. Locanda a Sud is now run by someone else. Amazing seafood, always fresh and prepared in a way that preserves its original flavours. Love the family style hospitality and simple but tasteful interior.

We found this lovely restaurant off the beaten tourist track and really enjoyed it. No mass tourism here. A small, manageable menu with typical Italian dishes. And a fantastic view of Lake Maggiore from above. 😉

An absolute delight! Locanda a Sud impresses with top-notch service – attentive, warm, and professional. The ambiance is currently very festive, creating a particularly cozy atmosphere. As a traditional Piedmontese restaurant, it offers authentic cuisine of the highest quality. We ordered all the appetizers, and each one was better than the last – a true highlight. The main course and dessert were also excellent and prepared with great care. The value for money is more than fair. Add to that a very good wine selection and a fantastic view, which perfectly rounds off the visit. A reservation is definitely recommended. We will certainly be back!
