Lo Fai In Piacenza

a lovely vegan restaurant in the heart of Piacenza. Staff speaks English, is super-friendly and brought water and vegan dog treat for our pup. Menu at lunch includes around 6 dishes, we had a very refreshing gazpacho (~10€) and a mixed plate with half a portion of whole grain spaghetti with a housemade basil pesto and potato cream, as well as half of a “kebab” roll, which reminded me more of a veggie-wrap, but nevertheless delicious. My decaf iced americano was very yummy too. Absolutely recommend this place and would always come back when around.

We come every now and then the food is good. But how did you treat us for a cake or ask for paper plates, you boycotted us. I know a place that does both cuisines. The dishes are the same. You did it on purpose to boycott. You see where we put a piece of cake.

I am not vegan and this means that I am used to flavors that are generally different from those offered by vegan cuisine. However, Lo Fai is the right place to contradict the more or less veiled retrograde theory of many people for whom vegan cuisine coincides with very limited ingredients in terms of flavors and variety: it is in fact a restaurant that offers many flavors, very different from each other, respecting the seasonality of the products and in a variety that can satisfy anyone. The dishes are always balanced, tasty and elegantly plated. They always have desserts of the day, with attention to offering different types of flavors. The environment is very well-kept. From an aesthetic point of view, the style is intimate and welcoming, simple but not obvious: you can see that there is thought behind every detail. The atmosphere is equally pleasant: the girls in the dining room are very helpful and attentive both to any allergies and to offering alternatives and advice. The drinks list offers mostly local wines and other drinks - non-alcoholic and non-alcoholic - more refined than average. The prices are normal and the portions are adequate. Highly recommended, both for lunch and dinner!
