Completely renovated, very welcoming and characteristic place. Craft beers and top food! Very pleasant evenings with live music.

Finally, after a long wait due to the renovation of the premises, on 5 December 2024, it reopened, with new management, by the owner of the CASTELDARIESE BIRRIFICIO (Francesco, a profound connoisseur of the world of craft beer, and this says a lot... ), this Tap Room where you will find: a selection of craft beers of its own production, together with a careful selection of proposals relating to cuisine which, if you are hungry, you will surely be fully satisfied upon leaving, last but not least, for those interested, there are evenings with live music with excellent musicians. Ah, one last detail: I gave 5 stars because it is not possible to assign more, but they would be well deserved!!!

It's enough to know that there are local craft beers from the Casteldariese Brewery, like crazy...(+ local food), there's everything to feel good 🥰

Bar Pasticceria Caravatti

01/12/2024: Welcome stop at the historic bar in the center of Mantua for an aperitif. It is worth stopping for canapés different from the usual ones then with the house bitters.
11/11/2024: The perfect Italian bar in central Piazza delle Erbe , with tourist office nearby . Super friendly staff and wonderful Caravatti apéritivo, which we tasted every day and bought a bottle to take home. Yum. Superb plate of ham , lovely snacks. Our favourite watering hole in magnificent Mantova, made even better by the warm welcome of all the staff. Highly recommended.

15/01/2025: The score is the average between the very good quality of the food (5 stars) and the service that needs to be reviewed to say the least (1 star): in fact, I consider it unacceptable to sit at the table at 1.30pm and get up at 3.40pm, with the last dish ordered arriving 10 minutes before to go out. Tiring and annoying wait, too bad.
30/12/2024: Even from the outside the place should have suggested something to us... we still wanted to give confidence... Too much homely air, too much. You park in their courtyard and pay in their dining room. Helpful and friendly, service a little slow. However, I ate really well at an adequate price, despite no vegan and very few vegetarian choices. The really sore point that doesn't make me give more than 3 stars is the ostentatious nostalgic passion for the 'Twenty Years'; for goodness sake everyone has the right to their own 'belief' but showing it in the restaurant may not be a good thing... oh well, it's their home anyway... because of this I don't know if we'll return.
