25/04/2025: About 15 km away and about twenty minutes by car from Reggio Calabria, along the road that goes up along the Santagata river, we reach Cardeto, a delightful and characteristic town perched on the peaks of Aspromonte at about 700 meters above sea level, which with the evening lights appears to us like a nativity scene. Mountain aromas and flavors combined with the pleasant breeze that rises from the Fiumara valley. Genuine hospitality and traditions promise. Parking in the square with a few steps we are at the Supra e Sutta restaurant, welcomed by the kind owner and the chef, who put us at ease by welcoming us with kindness and friendliness. We are served with various and abundant appetizers, delicious first and second courses with local products and good wine. The waiters at the tables are willing and available. The interior is welcoming and heated. The cuisine was excellent and we definitely appreciated it and the quality/price ratio was excellent.
