25/04/2026: I ate at La Taverna di Ciacco during a stroll through Terracina's historic center, and I must say it was a truly interesting discovery, albeit with a few ups and downs.
The restaurant is somewhat hidden among the alleys, so you have to look for it, but this very location gives it a special charm. As soon as I entered, I found the space small and cozy, very intimate and welcoming, almost like being at someone's home. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed, ideal for a leisurely dinner.
The service immediately struck me as friendly: the staff is kind and helpful, ready to explain the dishes and recommend what to order. It's not formal service, but that makes it more authentic and down-to-earth.
As for the food, you can taste the fresh, high-quality ingredients. I tried the fish dishes and I must say the flavors were well-balanced and refined, without being too heavy. I was particularly impressed by the seafood starters: tasty yet delicate. The fried foods were also delicious and well-prepared.
I also liked the fact that the menu isn't terribly long: few choices, but thoughtfully chosen, which usually means greater attention to detail.
That said, there are some areas that could be improved. The place is really small, so it can feel a bit cramped when full, and sometimes you feel like you're too close to other tables. Furthermore, the prices aren't particularly low compared to the portions, which I found a bit small in some cases.
Overall, however, my experience was positive: it's one of those places that focuses more on quality and atmosphere than quantity. I would recommend it especially to those looking for a quiet dinner, with carefully prepared dishes and a family atmosphere, perhaps away from the chaos of seaside restaurants.
