L’ANTIDOTO In Roma

If you love new experiences and funky food, this place is for you. The sommelier helps you pick a bottle of wine (they only sell by the bottle so come ready to drink!), and then you get to watch as the chef makes your food. Menu is always rotating, and you aren’t getting cacio e Pepe or anything basic here. We had roasted pigs ear salad, raw tuna with green peppers, and green curry clams. Also, portions are very small- so if you’re hungry, order a lot, or plan a second place to go to afterwards. More of a show/art experience than a true meal, but it was phenomenal.

This place offers a selection of daily changing dishes and an ever changing and beautiful selection of natural wines. The service is attentive. The chef took our food order and gave very helpful advice on the the different dishes and what and how to order. Wines by the bottle only and theres is only water as another drink. Reservation needed.

L'Antidoto is a wonderful little restaurant in the Trastevere district. Far from traditional Italian dishes, L'Antidoto uses fresh local products to enhance them and combine them with others that, in the end, make you say: "But what talent is this chef and why didn't I come sooner?". The choice of natural wines is well taken care of by the sommelier who has a good knowledge of his bottles and who makes good recommendations. Good music and a beautiful atmosphere. It is best to book in advance.

When you are ready for some exciting, non-traditional food in Rome, come here. No pasta or pizza - just the most delicious food we had in two weeks of Italy. The freshness of the ingredients, the creativity and preparation and the guidance from Luca made this a memorable night. 16 seats, always filled, and people in the streets drinking their wine. Of course, if you don't finish the bottle you can take it (does that happen?). After ordering food, Luca asked questions and then came with 3 bottles he thought would best compliment the meal. Explained each one. Fantastic. My only regret was the we didn't have four people so we could have ordered the entire menu. But, we got through 80%. And a second bottle! Not a fancy place, but oh so cool. And the vinyl spinning music all night is great. Thanks to all 3 guys who worked so hard. Incredible.

By reservation only, a small establishment, but excellent service and the young proprietors deserve 4.5 stars for their excellent small sized entrees, friendly attitude and tasty wine selection.

This was a special experience. Every dish we ordered came and surprised us. The explanations on how the food was made, where the ingredients came from was really interesting. Delicious and friendly. Also one of the most clear wine explanations we have ever experienced. A restaurant that delivers the passion of the people running it. Thanks

This place was the best discovery of our trip to Rome. We were recommended by a Roman friend who knows a lot about wine and food, and he was right. L'Antidoto is a natural wine bar with signature dishes that seem like they came from a Michelin-starred kitchen, but with the relaxed and spontaneous atmosphere of a neighborhood bar. We tried several things to share: a burrata with figs and basil oil that I still remember, a meat tartare with a Parmesan crisp, and a pasta dish with bottarga that was insane. All accompanied by natural wines that were presented to us with care and kindness. The place is small, almost all bar or high tables, so you have to arrive early or make a reservation. It's perfect if you really like wine and don't mind trying new things. Very authentic and very different from the typical Roman dishes. I would definitely go back.

Vibrant, unique and bursting with flavor. The natural wines are a great addition. Great service and recommendations, the food was so good that I forgot to take pictures of all the dishes.
