l'Antica Taverna In Imperia

We accidentally found L'Antica Taverna for our Sunday lunch, and I must say we were truly lucky. Good food, a welcoming and well-kept restaurant with a beautiful and traditional exterior, and last but certainly not least, impeccable service; friendliness, spontaneity, and professionalism—characteristics that aren't to be taken for granted, especially in a Ligurian restaurant! It exceeded our expectations. The fritto misto was perfect. It seemed fresh, not frozen. The pizzas were thin but crispy, well-made. Yes, it's true that our wine never arrived, but despite that, it was a perfect night. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent lunch, welcoming service. We ate outside, and the view is beautiful and evocative. The interior is beautiful, perfect for those who like rustic dining, even for winter lunches. The grilled sea bream is recommended.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance, as all the others were already full. We didn't regret it. Good service, good food, and reasonable prices. 👍 Highly recommended.

Good food, good location, slightly above average food

We booked because it is one of the "best restaurants" except that we ate a normal pizza, as well as a very ordinary smoked octopus on zucchini puree with the taste of water (both) an average tiramisu, the setting is nice at the top of a steep street and good service, the rating on Google is overvalued.

Imperia is a beautiful city with a charming, well-kept historic center, where the Antica Taverna is located. The restaurant is very quaint and welcoming, and in the summer you can dine outside among the old houses along a mule track, at red tables and under the sails of the beach umbrellas. The fried fish is excellent, especially the anchovies, but also the mixed seafood with the freshest fish. The pizza, with its light, crispy crust, surprised me. The simple, well-made dishes are delicious, and the desserts are also delicious (we tried the babamisu and crema catalana). The young staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the owner is very friendly! All in all, a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was charming, and we relaxed with a good glass of wine, enjoying the late-summer breeze. Very good value!
