L'Antica Pignata In Termoli

Two great things are preserved in ancient Pignata: kindness and good flavours. I will always remain faithful to the advice of a friend rather than a review, but as a friend, I advise you to try. Thanks to all the Staff.

Family-run restaurant with tasty meat and fish dishes recommended

We went last night... a quiet restaurant away from the chaos... We had dinner with peppered mussels, spaghetti with seafood, spaghetti with octopus, an excellent mixed fish omelette, a grandmother's dessert and a lemon sorbet... all very good ... the owner was very attentive to each course and came to see if everything was OK (we appreciated it a lot) the waiter was kind and very helpful.. and then what about the prices??...excellent.... super recommended...

Small but welcoming place, where you can eat both meat and fish, I recommend the meat as the fish first courses, like the starters, are not exciting, the second courses and the fried calamari are better. The location certainly does not reflect the antiquity of the name as the tables outside are positioned under the porticoes of a condominium. The desserts are good but with a modest variety. If you are in Termoli it is still an alternative not to be discarded.

A trattoria where you immediately feel at home. After three years of spending my holidays in Termoli, I can say that the ancient Pignata has very few rivals. Traditional dishes from Molise and Abruzzo, beautifully prepared, at a truly honest price. You can eat both meat and fish and you will definitely leave satisfied... after having already booked for the next day. Thanks to Vanessa & co!

A wonderful discovery made by my wife. We were looking for a place where we could taste the fish broth but which wasn't the usual place for tourists. We found this beautiful, intimate and well-kept restaurant, run by friendly and knowledgeable people. Excellent food expertly prepared with excellent quality ingredients, very fresh fish and generous portions. Excellent location 5 minutes walk from the wonderful center of Termoli. Definitely coming back! Fair price proportionate to what they served us. See you soon

If you are looking for a gourmet restaurant that serves molecular cuisine, the ancient pignata is not for you... if you are looking for a "real" trattoria that brings to mind the taste of southern grandmothers' dishes, then this is the right place for you. The ancient Pignata is made like this...simple dishes prepared with excellent quality raw materials, both meat and fish. In the land dishes you can taste the best flavors of Molise and Abruzzo. In seafood dishes, all the goodness of the fish prepared in a simple way and without many frills. Vanessa Simone and Carlo will accompany you on this journey as only good hosts can do. The portions are typical of a trattoria...plenty of portions and flavours. The final bill is unrivaled in Termoli... some examples: pasta with seafood €10, fried calamari €13... lamb kebabs €1.20 each, peppered mussels €7... and I could go on . For us it is a fixed point during our holidays in Termoli..

Se cercate un ristorante gourmet che propina cucina molecolare l'antica pignata non fa per voi...se cercate una trattoria "vera" che riporta alla memoria il gusto dei piatti delle nonne del sud, allora questo è l'ambiente giusto voi. L'antica Pignata è fatta così..piatti semplici preparati con materie prime di ottima qualità, sia di carne sia di pesce. Nei piatti di terra si gustano i migliori sapori del Molise e dell'Abruzzo. Nei piatti di mare tutta la bontà del pescato preparato in modo semplice e senza tanti fronzoli. Vanessa Simone e Carlo vi accompagneranno in questo viaggio come solo i bravi padroni di casa sanno fare. Le porzioni sono da trattoria..abbondanza di porzioni e di sapori. Il conto finale non trova rivali a Termoli...qualche esempio: pasta allo scoglio € 10, frittura di calamari 13€... arrosticini di agnello €1,20 l'uno, impepata di cozze €7...e potrei continuare. Per noi è un punto fisso durante le nostre vacanze termolesi..

In visita a Termoli città, dopo aver scartato alcuni posti in centro che mi parevano troppo turistici, ho deciso di optare per qualcosa di meno centrale ma comunque comodo, trovato qui su Tripadvisor. Dall'esterno non lo noterei, ma all'interno si apre un mondo... Ottimo sia per la cortesia, sia per i prezzi, ma soprattutto per la qualità del cibo, arrosticini e contorni veramente buoni. E' stato l'ultimo pasto prima di ripartire per casa: mi ha lasciato un bel ricordo di tutta la vacanza. Grazie.
