L'Angolo Gastronomico In Palermo

Excellent Sicilian home cooking, everything fresh and delicious. Mother and son behind the counter, very friendly and efficient. The clientele appreciates the offerings; doctors, tradesmen, housewives, etc., all are represented.

Street food. Very welcoming even if you don't speak Italian. They take care of everything with their hands.

If you want to experience authentic Sicilian cuisine, this is the place to go to. At the end of August, I spent a week in Palermo and ate here every day for lunch throughout my stay. This small restaurant is run by a genuine Sicilian senior lady and her son. During my visits there, I was not only able to enjoy the delicious food, but also able to have long chats with the very friendly and warm owners of the restaurant – even though I don't speak Italian, as I come from Germany (we communicated using the audio translation function of Google Translate on my smartphone). The prices of the food are unbeatable. The selection of food is great. In particular, I loved the Pasta and Arancini. The food is cooked freshly daily. An authentic Sicilian culinary experience!

After a day in bustling Palermo, we returned to the B&B on Via Capuccini to grab a bite to eat in the area. D'Angelo Gastronomico was superb. It's a small restaurant with a few tables inside and a few on the sidewalk. Nonna is in charge and a particularly good cook. The dishes are what you'd expect from a Palermo home: delicious pasta, vegetables, arancini, and panzelle. Don't expect luxury or a fancy atmosphere, but feel at home in Palermo!

A random stop on the catacombs route. Very good home cooking, wonderful hospitality. And all for a small fee! A must-try!

We stopped for dinner and ordered several dishes to try as many as possible. Everything was delicious, but our favorites were the spleen sandwich (cooked on the spot) and the meatballs in tomato sauce (truly special).

I stayed in Palermo for a week, staying at a B&B on Corso Calatafimi. L'Angolo Gastronomico was my go-to place for dinner, almost every night. The staff was always very friendly, and it was nice to chat with Davide between bites. Everything was delicious because the ingredients were fresh and cooked to order. A special place for panelle, my favorite (they arrived safely in Brescia). A must-try for my next visit to Palermo.

Stopping by, we found, in addition to the excellent food, an incredible kindness from the dear lady... The panelle and croquettes were so good that, apart from seconds, we took them home raw so we could savor this Palermo street food again!

Very tasty food, at the level of restaurants. It is obvious that everything is freshly prepared.
