I happened to be there late in the evening, but I appreciated the well-kept atmosphere and quick service... the fried food was good, the seafood appetizer less so, but the beans with mussels were tasty.

Family dinner, friendly staff, but some waiters seemed inexperienced, but overall the service could be okay. I've known the restaurant for many years, and I have to say the quality of the food has changed. The appetizer was something frozen when you expect home-made cooking. A terrible rating for the linguine with clams, served with a heavy sauce of burnt garlic, so much so that the flavor of the clams was masked. The gnocchi with shrimp and chopped pistachios, however, were excellent.

I came to eat with a friend, the dishes were excellent, very good, but the service in the dining room and at the cash register was terrible. Check the receipt because the prices are different from those on the menu. Also, the coffee stirred with a plastic stick is unsightly.

Spaghetti alle vongole semplicemente eccezionali: pasta al dente, vongole freschissime e un condimento equilibrato che valorizza ogni ingrediente senza coprire i sapori. Si sente che c'è attenzione e passione in cucina. Anche il servizio è stato impeccabile: cortesia, tempi giusti e un’atmosfera rilassata che mette subito a proprio agio. Un ristorante che sa unire qualità e accoglienza. Consigliatissimo!!!

Ristorante consigliatoci da amici della zona, posizione bellissima elevata sul mare, e locali gradevoli. Personale molto gentile. Portate di pesce provate tutte davvero molto buone, e di porzioni più che adeguate. Unico piccolo “neo” alla nostra esperienza, è stata una lentezza nell’arrivo delle portate, in particolare i primi. Tuttavia, nel complesso la recensione è più che positiva, considerando la qualità dei cibi e la gentilezza del personale. Rapporto qualità/prezzo adeguato.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Piero, the owner, who welcomes guests with warmth and professionalism, making each customer feel truly special. A special mention goes to Antonio, the waiter, whose calm, kind manner and remarkable skill in recommending dishes make the experience even more enjoyable and personalized. To top it all off, the panoramic terrace directly overlooking the sea, with a breathtaking view of the Aragonese Castle: a picture-perfect landscape that enchants you throughout your stay. A highly recommended place for those seeking something unique, combining flavors, beauty, and authentic hospitality.
29/08/2025: The best restaurant in Castella!! We went to this restaurant three times during our vacation and always had a great time! Excellent quality fish, perfect waiter service, and very fair prices, with a wonderful terrace view!

19/09/2025: We're on holiday in Calabria, and after visiting Le Castella, we stop at Ristorante da Mario. Everything is excellent. There may not be a sea view, but what matters is that you ate well. Recommended.
