We dined at this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and decided to have the four-course menu. It was a truly unique experience. Everything was delicious. After the four courses, we were greeted by the chef, followed by pre-dessert and post-dessert. The service was impeccable, and everything was beautiful because there was a divider between the tables specifically to ensure a bit of privacy. The location was beautiful. The price was absolutely perfect for everything we ate and drank. The food and the presentation of the dishes were simply incredible!!! We will absolutely be back!!

A modern, elegant, high-quality restaurant serving excellent traditional dishes with a modern twist. Excellent flavor combinations, using local, genuine ingredients, excellent wines, fast, friendly service, and a small outdoor parking lot.

A great evening, delicious food with perfect service

The food is—without question—excellent. The only drawback is that certain flavors (passion fruit, pumpkin, parsley oil) are often repeated throughout the courses. What was unfortunately not pleasant was that, despite having made a reservation several weeks in advance, we were only assigned a "cat table." Upon request, another table was provided, but it was just as uncomfortable. This did dampen our spirits a bit. Waiting times between courses were occasionally a bit too long.

Highly recommended! This was our second time there and we were not disappointed. The service was extremely friendly and unobtrusive, always present, leaving no wish unfulfilled. The menu was perfectly tailored to the season, and we were treated to superb quality food, including cauliflower mousse with beetroot, pumpkin cream soup, tartar sauce, dumplings with porcini mushroom filling, and burrata. Everything was lovingly prepared and presented with great craftsmanship. The cocoa butter banana with banana cream was another eye-catcher at the end. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

As soon as you enter, you sense that this isn't a run-of-the-mill inn, but a place of sophistication, creativity, and hospitality. The Lackner Stubn combines regionally rooted cuisine with modern influences, creating a culinary experience you won't soon forget. The interior is charming and versatile. There are several dining rooms – including the traditional Zirmstube, a "Neue Stube" (New Room) –, a light-filled pavilion, and a spacious garden.  The blend of coziness (wood, warm colors) and modern elements creates a harmonious atmosphere without losing character. Ideal for a special evening, but also for relaxed lunches. The garden offers a lovely alternative in spring/summer. The menu showcases diversity and creativity. You'll find classics of South Tyrolean cuisine, as well as Mediterranean and even Asian influences.  A few standout dishes: • Veal fillet with beautiful vegetables and a delicate side dish.  • Venison steak with nut crust, red cabbage, pumpkin cream, and potato dumplings: a successful combination of game and South Tyrolean regional cuisine.  • Homemade pasta and tortelloni, sometimes with surprises like kamut flour or special fillings.  • For dessert, try chocolate tarts with a liquid center or two types of sorbet – sweet and pleasantly light.  The quality of the ingredients has been repeatedly praised, and you can taste the freshness and care – for example, in the bread, some of which is homemade or at least sourced locally.  The service is generally friendly, competent, and dedicated. There are reports that the staff fulfills requests, provides explanations, and is attentive.  The wine selection is good, with a focus on South Tyrol and the surrounding area, which fits the character of the restaurant.  The ambience is complemented by loving details – small greetings from the kitchen, a meticulous presentation of the dishes, and stylish table setting. All of this contributes to making you feel welcome. Value for Money & Atmosphere The prices are on the high side – and quite justified, considering how thoughtfully the dishes are prepared, how beautifully presented, and how often the ingredients are of the highest quality. Many guests feel that you get what you pay for, especially with the tasting menu. The atmosphere is overall very pleasant: stylish but not overly so, with a good volume level so that conversations are possible without shouting at each other; yet lively enough for a festive evening. The garden adds further charm in the warmer months. The Lackner Stubn is a restaurant that exceeds many expectations. For gourmets looking to embark on a culinary journey of discovery, it is an excellent choice. Creative cuisine meets regional dishes, style meets warmth, and the overall package is convincing. So, if you're in the Merano area and fancy something special—not spectacularly over-the-top, but thoughtful, tasteful, and with attention to detail—then the Lackner Stubn is one of the first places I recommend.
