Quiet lunch, excellent food, ditto wine, very knowledgeable and friendly staff, above-average quality/price ratio. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

We only had an aperitivo, but it was truly fantastic! Lured by the cocktail menu featuring local products, we couldn't resist and made the right choice: spectacular! and fabulous appetizers! Even though there were at least a dozen of us and they have small tables, they quickly set up a large table for us. The staff was friendly, attentive, and thoughtful in explaining and accommodating our requests. We will be happy to return.

We went to this restaurant with some people who had been there a couple of years ago and had a great time, but unfortunately something has probably changed... we ate very poorly and spent a lot! The location was definitely nice, the waitresses were very kind, but perhaps a little unprepared. Many dishes were unavailable even though they were listed on the menu. What a shame!

Very nice and beautiful. We had to wait at least an hour for the food. It was a bit long, but as I said, the staff was friendly. The food tasted good, but the portions were small.

We have had a wonderfull evening. Very fresh and delicious diner we had including very good wine. Great ambiance and nice view. Service was excellent and very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant.

A longtime customer, this year I was disappointed. Some dishes are no longer on the menu, unfortunately. Overall, the quality is still good, but the flavors aren't what they used to be. It's a shame. I won't be back.

Bolgheri, in August, is crowded with people, many German and Italian tourists, beautiful people. Bolgheri has become a bit of a "food factory," and consequently all the available places have become restaurants, which used to be four or five, now three times as many. La Taverna del Pittore is a historic restaurant, one of the best, if not the best, so much so that at a certain point Carlo Conti and Marco Masini appeared with a bunch of friends, right next to us. The elegance of the place is beyond question, as is the quality of the food. In my wife's and my two dishes, "Gnocchi al Tartufo," with a wonderful cream cheese sauce, there was no shortage of grated truffle. The staff was elegant and up to the task, with a constantly attentive manager. So? Why only three stars? The prices are high, yes, but in line with the quality of the place... Good, because my order, consisting of the aforementioned truffle gnocchi and a tripe dish (which I'm a sucker for), was cancelled after over an hour due to lack of tripe! How come, I ask, it took you over an hour to realize you no longer had that second course? Andreotti used to say that it's a sin to think badly, but you're often right, and shortly thereafter, the famous guests arrived... Anyway, they told me I'd have to change my second course. And I chose a tagliata. They asked me how well done it was, which is always done with such a dish, and... no, they served it well done, even though I'd asked for it "rare." Well, that was a bit of a bad evening, because the tagliata didn't taste very good. Learn from the many Tuscan restaurants how to prepare meat, because we're not up to par, neither in cooking nor in serving, since the meat was naked, and it didn't take much to serve it with a little arugula and balsamic vinegar. What a shame. The rest of the dishes were excellent.

From Turin, first Tuscan holiday, and a highly recommended place in Bolgheri. The atmosphere is so beautiful and family-friendly, even with kids, you lose track of time. Excellent food, highly recommended wine, excellent value. Chef Goffredo and Silvia... speechless, quality combined with a unique kindness and authenticity, even towards a 9-year-old, who was delighted. Anyone going to Bolgheri (which is wonderful) can't miss Taverna del Pittore ❤️

A wonderful evening, enchanting atmosphere, background jazz, soft lighting and a light breeze. The typical Tuscan foods, the fine wine and the kindness of the owner Silvia made this evening enchanting for us. Thank you Claudia and Federico.
