25/09/2025: We had dinner with a group of colleagues at Smokey Joe's; there were 14 of us.
Being a Wednesday, we were able to get more attention from the staff, who served us superbly.
We were there for the meat, and I must say, as a BBQ lover and adept, I wasn't disappointed; quite the opposite.
We had appetizers that served their purpose—keeping us hungry—then two giant platters of all the smoked and slow-cooked specialties: pork ribs, pulled pork, pulled beef, brisket, pork belly, plus sides of coleslaw, beans, and corn roasted in a classic American style.
Chef Giuseppe knows his way around meat and knows what he's doing. The cooking was perfect, and his BBQ sauces, especially the orange and spicy ones, were superb.
Even though we were packed, he gave us a free sample of smoked Prague ham, which, surprisingly, we finished without a problem due to its deliciousness. Ultimately, eating here was a delightful discovery: if you're a social media fan or prefer boiled meat smothered in BBQ sauce, you might want to go elsewhere.
