La Rustica In Cammarata

17/10/2024: I ate dinner at the restaurant. I did not stay at the hotel, but will look into rooms here on my next visit to the area. I had the most wonderful fresh crab dinner here! The service was warm and friendly, my table was beautiful and comfortable, and the FOOD was spectacular. I have lived in cold and warm water locations with excellent fresh crab and shellfish. Sapore di Mare lived up to its name - I think this is possibly the best, most flavorful crab I have ever eaten. The wine and dessert (the local ice cream speciality) were also wonderful! 24/09/2024: We were not staying, we only went to eat so I only value this experience. First, important, we have been out of season, at the end of September, so I imagine that attention may change. In our almost she has been very good, attentive and close. It may seem peculiar that the manager sits down with the diners to take note of the order and suggest the menu, but that attitude makes it closer, it may seem more or less correct, but that depends on taste and as I say, out of season without the restaurant full it will be perceived differently. The suggestions were spot on, the service was very good and the food was excellent. The sappore di mare antipasto was great, it included an exquisite capponata. The correct mixed frying (fritto di misto), not greasy at all. And the tuna (tagliata di tonno) is delicious. The only bad thing is the access, which is on the road and just like the Sicilians drive, you have to be careful when crossing.
