I've been coming here for many years and for me it remains the best restaurant in the area. If you want to feel the taste of the sea and the flavors of the south, it's the best ever 👌

Overall, it was a good experience. The food was good and well-prepared. It's a restaurant and a fishmonger, so the fish is fresh. The waiters and owners were very friendly. For an appetizer, first course, and second course, we spent about €50-60 per person.

Excellent food and freshly caught fish. Reasonable prices. Good service. Dinner is always by reservation only. Well-known in the area and has endured over time, one of the best. I recommend it. The very friendly owner is a true professional.

We chose this restaurant tempted by the reviews of other customers. When we arrived we thought we had the wrong place, but as soon as we entered we were overwhelmed by colors, aromas, chatter, and smiles!!! We were welcomed by a lady with a jovial smile who apologized but, since we hadn't booked, she could only seat us at an outdoor table. We didn't really like eating outside, but we stayed and here he came. Once seated, the waiter/owner/fisherman, after a chat, chose our dishes and... go there!!! Highly recommended!!! We had marinated grouper, crab frizulli, and fried mixed seafood, spectacular, and even the sweet hazelnut cremino was just as good!! When it came to the bill, we were offered a free amaro! Reasonable prices for what you get, we'll be back.

I have been coming on holiday to Policoro for over 15 years now and I can say I have tried them all. La Rosa dei Venti is the only restaurant where, in addition to kindness and impeccable service, you can find truly top fish specialties. Then for me who loves first courses, Mr. Antonio uses a blackboard to indicate the dishes he offers every evening based on the catch and it is something unique and sensational. Thank you so much for existing!!!

09/04/2025: Con i miei amici gastronomi, abbiamo scelto la Locanda dell’Abate a Montescaglioso per un pranzo fuori porta. Siamo stati accolti con grande cordialità, e lo chef e titolare, il signor Giuseppe, ci ha guidati nella scelta dei vini per accompagnare l’esperienza. L’antipasto di mare ci ha conquistati con il tentacolo di polpo arrosto e le seppie cotte nel mezzo limone, sprigionando profumi delicati e un perfetto equilibrio tra tenerezza e acidità. Il legame con il territorio si è fatto sentire con la cipolla in agro. I ravioli di pesce, avvolti in una salsa di pomodoro leggermente acidula, hanno offerto un contrasto raffinato, mentre i gamberoni in crosta sono stati semplicemente eccellenti. L’atmosfera raccolta, grazie ai pochi tavoli in sala, ha reso la conversazione piacevole e conviviale. Concludiamo questa esperienza domenicale con un plauso allo chef Giuseppe per l’ottima organizzazione e la qualità delle portate. Torneremo presto!

30/06/2025: I would like to point out that the new management has been here for only 3 months and that all the NEGATIVE reviews are part of the old management that, most likely, made a bit of a mess. Tonight my wife and I ate some really excellent fish, and not only for the quality but also for the refinement of the dishes. The guy who served us was very nice and competent and the location was very soft and beautiful. GO WITHOUT TAKING TOO MUCH ACCOUNT OF THE 3.7 (Google review score)…YOU WILL BE SATISFIED!
29/06/2025: Very kind staff, attentive to people like me who suffer from many intolerances. Very good and fresh food to enjoy together with a good wine in front of the beautiful port
