While passing through Ventimiglia, we stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were pleasantly surprised by its authenticity. It's a typically Italian restaurant, giving the impression of being in the kitchen of our ancestors. You can tell everything is made with passion. The food is simple and generous, good, and the prices are reasonable. It was a moving experience, and we were even treated to roses at the end of the meal. ❤️🇮🇹 🫶🏼

Crossing the Italian border, I wanted to eat typical Italian food. I came across this highly rated restaurant so we tried it. 2 extremely kind and helpful people, the homemade ravioli with delicious Bolognese sauce on the side, homemade fries, homemade tiramisu and affordable prices with a tourist menu at 25 euros offering 2 dishes and cheese or dessert. 👍🏻

What a gem of a place. Delicious food, the owner and waiter are very kind, and the lady chef is a master. It's nice to see that in this world of restaurants with innovative and modern food, there are those who still respect tradition.

A true gem by the sea. We went for lunch without high expectations and left delighted. The experience at La Pérgola was one of those that reminds you why it's worth seeking out local, unpretentious places where food is cooked with soul. From the first moment, seeing the lady at the back of the restaurant, busy with the stove, gives you a clue that this is where real homemade food is made, without shortcuts or gimmicks. We ordered several dishes to share and try a bit of everything. The grilled fish was a pleasant surprise: sardines, calamari, prawns, and a white fish fillet, all perfectly cooked, juicy, flavorful, and served with no other accompaniment than a little lemon and good produce. Simple, honest cooking that shines on its own. The spaghetti alle vongole was delicious, with a very balanced sauce, full of flavor but not heavy, and the clams were super fresh. The spaghetti with pesto was the highlight for me, but I have to say I'm a huge pesto lover, and when you try it homemade like here, with that creamy texture, just the right touch of garlic, and the aroma of good olive oil, it becomes a memorable dish. Plus, they serve it with the sauce on the side, which is appreciated so you can adjust it to your taste. We also tried the cotoletta alla milanese, well-breaded, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, without excess fat. Ideal for those looking for something more classic. For dessert, we shared a chocolate profiterole, with ice cream inside and a generous chocolate coating, and a red fruit tart with a soft base, light cream, and fresh fruit on top. All with a homemade flavor, unpretentious and lovingly prepared. The service was simple and attentive, and the atmosphere is that of a traditional trattoria: without frills, but with the charm of authenticity. It's a place I would recommend to anyone passing through Ventimiglia who wants to eat well, just like at home, with good ingredients and real food.
