La Pastorella In Isola del liri

I went to this trattoria today and had a great time. They offered us a small appetizer while we waited for the first course, which was very welcome. Then we had fettuccine with mushrooms, which was a bit bland (though I added a little salt) but very well seasoned and al dente. For the second course, mixed grilled meats were well cooked and tender, with pan-fried vegetables. Everything was very digestible and of good quality. I'll go back if I'm in the area again.

I would return to La Pastorella a thousand and a thousand times again. When we were little more than children it was the restaurant that was the setting for parties, birthdays, ceremonies, anniversaries and all the big events of our family: days that saw us all gathered together around large tables. Costantino the innkeeper has always been a very funny and kind-hearted person who welcomes you, entertains you, and invites you to eat. The real secret of this place is to let him guide you without pretending to contradict his will. You will leave the table perhaps fuller and more tipsy than expected, but the culinary experience will be satisfying.
