I had lunch today, December 5, 2025, with the Discovery Sicily group from Messina. I don't know how much they paid. I was very satisfied. The appetizer was good, with warm fried food. The risotto was perfect, not pre-cooked rice. I tried one of the ricotta and spinach ravioli; I make them at home, and they didn't taste like the processed ones. They were good. I season them with butter and sage; I think the flavor of the fresh pasta is enhanced. I didn't try dessert. The service was also excellent. The waiter was very kind. The bathroom was clean.

From the entrance, a very unassuming restaurant. The magic develops with every meter you walk through the rooms. In the second, very large, what I'll call "dining room," there are large and small tables where you can sit comfortably, dine, and chat. The service is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The advice is attentive and competent. Special requests are readily accommodated, as long as you don't want cream sauce for the spaghetti carbonara (😉). The kitchen is reasonably fast, and everything seems to be freshly cooked. The wines are well-chosen and affordable. The food is moderately priced. Conclusion: If you've found yourself in this beautiful place, visit this restaurant!! Actually, this restaurant is more of a candidate for 5 because of the excellent food, but the ambiance isn't quite my cup of tea.

05/12/2025: The place is a bit old fashioned but the pizza was excellent.
12/09/2025: Found online. Welcoming place. What can I say? We tried it for lunch, and the pizza was delicious and the wait was just right. Unfortunately, in the evening the kitchen is only open for meat dishes, not seafood. I should point out that we've been there twice before, but on Sunday evening, September 7, 2025, despite a queue due to heavy traffic, we arrived, sat down, and placed our order at 8:40 PM. After a few reminders, the pizzas arrived around 10:00 PM, and unfortunately, they weren't up to par with the other two times. Perhaps the pizza chef wasn't the same as the other lunch times, where he really put his heart and soul into the preparation. I have to say, it was a bit disappointing. I hope it was a coincidence. We'll definitely be back to enjoy excellent pizza again. The service and hospitality were excellent and attentive. Well done to the staff.

Osteria appia antica

08/02/2026: A remarkable discovery in Casagiove: finding a place that serves good fish and knows how to cook it. I was impressed by the fried shrimp and calamari, which was truly delicious. The only flaw with the spaghetti with clams was that it didn't quite hold together with the sauce; I had to add oil to flavor it.
20/01/2026: Positive experience; pasta with local pecorino cheese was very good.
