Update March 2025 (at the bottom) A place for connoisseurs. You won't find the usual Mexican/Spanish tourist cuisine, but typical traditional dishes cooked with the same local recipe. The owner (if you know how to get it, he's a very nice and knowledgeable person) boasts thirty years of experience in South American cuisine on site and does it out of passion. The menu is particular and the products are top quality. The paella (if you want to try his) you will have to book it and not on Saturday because he "only cooks fresh products and the original paella needs 3 hours of preparation". La Madrugada is a culinary experience and as mentioned above is for connoisseurs. The environment is quiet and very small (3/4 tables) so booking is mandatory. The prices are quite high but it can be worth it in terms of value for money. Update March 2025: I confirm that the quality of the place, the freshness of the products and the goodness of the cuisine requires a review of the organisation: in the place there is only the owner and the helper (who however only takes care of the kitchen) and it is the owner who manages the orders, table service and preparation of the dishes, this significantly slows down the arrival of the dishes resulting in you having to wait almost two hours to finally be able to taste the paella; A waiter is necessary to manage orders, especially when you have to explain the dishes on the menu, serve at the tables, welcome customers: it is unthinkable to do everything alone because it inevitably takes time away from preparing the dishes and the wait becomes very long and sometimes unnerving. So you are warned, you will eat well, but the wait will be long

This place is a true gem among the places in the Vomero-Arenella area, exquisite food, authentic flavors and convivial atmosphere. We ate really well, paying very little in relation to quantity and quality (the maxi burrito was so large that 2 of us took half of it home, the fresh nachos were special). I was only sorry to see the place empty throughout the evening, a real shame, considering that the area is full of cheap and obscene places that are packed out every Saturday. There is a need to support activities that offer quality, it is the only valid restaurant in the city that offers this type of cuisine. Long live the Madrugada!

The choice is wide and ranges between flavors that will satisfy everyone, from lovers of strong flavors to the more traditional. The prices are surprisingly accessible compared to the quality offered, making this place an excellent compromise for those who want to eat well without spending too much. Furthermore, the staff are simply fantastic: kind, welcoming and always available to recommend the best from the menu. A real corner of Mexico in Vomero not to be missed!

I went to this Mexican restaurant in Vomero for dinner, and I must say that it was a truly fantastic experience! The place, although small, is welcoming and with attention to the smallest details: the atmosphere is warm, colorful and perfect for a relaxing and convivial evening. The real strong point, however, is the owner: super friendly, attentive and always ready to make customers feel at ease. His welcome and passion for work make everything even more pleasant. As for the food, simply delicious! We started with some appetizers: crispy and perfect French fries, some aubergine meatballs that melted in your mouth and others made with cod, a real explosion of flavor. As a main course, we shared a maxi burrito, abundant and very tasty, which won us all over. A place I highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience with a touch of Neapolitan hospitality. I will definitely be back!

A truly pleasant evening, a high-profile welcome and food in line with what one might expect, perhaps the sangria was slightly unbalanced in taste. It is important to consider that the internal spaces are quite compact.

It is not the typical tourist Mexican cuisine, but it is the Mexican cuisine par excellence. The food is excellent, the service is super, the place is a bit small, but the sayings are never contradicted: "good wine comes in a small package". Must try.
