On September 9th, we had lunch with nine people. The food was truly delicious, well-cooked, and the service was excellent. The wait staff was attentive.
Oddly enough, and I'd say very fortunately, perhaps due to bad weather forecasts, we had the restaurant all to ourselves (a rare occurrence).

Honestly, I expected better food. My husband's fried food was almost non-existent, the other dishes were nothing special. We took red wine, which we like, but the glass wasn't changed from white to red. Honestly, considering what they charge, I was disappointed.

Nice location, with a romantic view on the little harbor of Castiglioncello. Regarding food, the dishes miss the balance of flavors: good quality ingredients are not enough.
A piece of advice: put local olive oil on the table, not labels from south of Italy!

Beautiful, quiet location with a lovely, and clean restaurant serving great food.
We had a wonderful dinner on a weeknight while visiting a few weeks back and were able to get seated without a reservation.
The servers were kind, relatively attentive and were helpful as we needed to ensure we had gluten-free food due to a member of our party having Celiac (gluten allergy).
There were still a decent set of
options to eat and we thought the food was delicious.
Our drinks/aperitifs were great too!

I would like to thank all the Staff, a wonderful Team and in particular the Chef who I don't think is starred, but deserves all the MICHIELIN stars, and has nothing to envy anyone.... I would like to describe in detail but it took me back to when I was a child and I didn't like fish, but I couldn't wait to go to my grandfather to eat his Cod, but it wasn't a Brazilian, Portuguese or Livorno style Cod, it was a predictable Cod that recalled all its essence and flavor of the sea, for someone who doesn't like fish it was like doing a trick in the simplicity of the flavor. I'll make it short, I think that once in your life you should see this film, and you will make a comparison of this that I would like to express, "Ratatouille" at the end when a critical and starred chef is amazed by a dish that he ate as a child and finds himself eating the same dish revisited made by the magical hands of an unusual chef....
I recommend that once in a lifetime or as many times as you want to go to Luciola in Castiglioncello you would always be amazed by the magic of this cuisine that is renewed every day with fresh quality products. And here if you express a high level Pizza Chef who venerates gastronomy in its essence. Thank you Lucciola!
