La Cucina dei Pignuin In Laigueglia

We celebrated New Year's Eve with friends at this small restaurant in the center of Laigueglia. The location isn't particularly elegant, but it's suitable for any occasion. I must say that for New Year's Eve dinner, space was a bit tight, to the detriment of the guests' comfort. There wasn't a set menu, but we had to choose from several dishes offered that day, mostly seafood, but not exclusively. I ordered scallops au gratin, which were not bad, but not exciting. The seafood gnocco was good, as was the tagliolini verde. I enjoyed the fried fish, which was plentiful, but I would have preferred more fish and fewer chips. The grilled prawns were good. We followed with a few desserts and liqueurs before the fireworks. We spent €60 per person, perhaps a bit too much for what we ate.

We went for lunch today. The atmosphere was pleasant. We had delicious spicy mussels and exquisite spaghetti with clams. The owners and staff were super helpful. The prices weren't exactly cheap, but the food was good, and that's enough.

We went because I enjoyed the owner’s response to a disgruntled review. Food was great, grilled swordfish , steak and I had the fried calamari. No complaints whatsoever, speedy service even though they were busy. Middle of the road prices but very generous portions. Definitely recommend.

The seafood pasta was fantastic, the waiters were friendly, and the place was very cute, with tables in both squares. We've already been back twice for the seafood pasta, it's worth it!

Truly excellent in every way. Very friendly. We really enjoyed the food.

Overall, an acceptable experience: the food was good and the ingredients seemed fresh, but there were a few things that left me perplexed. We had a reservation for two at 8:30 PM, but upon our arrival, we were called to our table 15 minutes later without anyone asking us anything or explaining the situation. At this point, I wonder: does it really make sense to book if the wait is just as long? The quality of the food is good: the spaghetti with clams was well-cooked and with a generous amount of clams, although the pasta portion seemed small (about 150g for two dishes, which is a bit questionable considering the price). The fritto misto was average; it's hard to go wrong. The free limoncello at the end of the meal was very much appreciated. The atmosphere is a bit limited: the tables are very close together, which reduces the intimacy of the evening. In conclusion, a restaurant with good food but with room for improvement both in terms of organization and value for money. I might return, but without too many expectations.

My husband and I have long since left our hearts in Laigueglia, and our dinners always end at this delightful restaurant! Dario, the owner, has become a friend, and the dishes here are always excellent, even though I wasn't feeling so well the last time...always delicious, friendly staff, and excellent value!

I went to dinner with my dad, everything was delicious, including desserts; we'll be back soon.
