Treat yourself to a unique experience at Tazza d'Oro, the legendary coffee shop just steps from the Pantheon! Tazza d'Oro is located on Via degli Orfani, in the historic center of the Eternal City. This Roman icon immediately captivates you with its vintage charm, the enveloping aroma of roasted beans, and an atmosphere that resonates with everyday life and touristic wonder. It's the ideal refuge to recharge after admiring the Pantheon, with that perfect mix of authenticity and centrality that makes it unsurpassed. The staff behind the counter are an added bonus: friendly, super professional, and tireless, they manage the crowds with grace. The stars of the menu? Let's start with the espresso: a concentration of pure Italian genius, intense and smooth, with aromas of bitter cocoa and toasted hazelnuts that linger in your mouth for minutes, rejuvenating like a warm embrace. The cappuccino is poetry in the cup, a velvety, dense foam that blends with the robust coffee, just the right amount of sweetness without being heavy—creamy, balanced, and worthy of a standing ovation. And what about a latte macchiato? An elegant caress: hot, steamy milk laced with a light, fragrant layer of aromatic coffee, perfect for those who want a taste without excess and a little extra indulgence.

The fresh milk buns are worth trying! The coffee is worth drinking! Arrive early to avoid the queue. We arrived shortly after the shop opened on either side; it was quite empty. However, when we left at 8:00 AM, a queue had already formed, and all the standing seats were full.

4.0 out of 5 – Espresso average, Granita di Caffè is better
The espresso here is fairly average and I would probably rank it the lowest among all the coffee shops I tried over the past few days. It had a noticeably sour taste. The cappuccino might be a better choice, though I didn’t try it myself.
On the other hand, the Granita di Caffè tasted good, even if there was a bit too much cream for my liking.

Amazing cafe with very tasty coffee. They also have fantastic pastries - I especially love their sfogliatelle and maritozzo. I love having a caffè al banco here. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are sometimes queues, but the wait is never too long.
