A truly great carbonara, made just right, reminiscent of the one my mother used to make (she was a great cook!). Just right, authentic, enveloping, almost affectionate. But always perfectly executed. Old-fashioned service, like it used to be. The place is generally friendly and pleasant, and located inside a sports club, with a relaxed atmosphere. The REAL puntarelle are a plus.

Roman cuisine without any buts, broccoli and arzilla soup, Venetian-style liver, a little digression, saltimbocca alla romana, Roman-style artichokes, puntarelle... Everything is top-notch, even the bread. Everything just like my grandmother of old Roman lineage used to make. Trattoria-like service, trattoria-like ambiance, all in a magnificent trattoria.

In Rome, to describe a place serving authentic, hearty, and flavorful cuisine, they say "ignorante," or rather "ngorante." This is a temple of ignorance, but so much wisdom and wholesome tradition shines through in the dishes served: from the unmissable Roman-style artichokes to the legendary carbonara, including Thursday gnocchi and, if you're lucky, an excellent broccoli and arzilla soup. Among the main courses, the tripe and the veal breast "alla fornara" are noteworthy. The place is certainly truly "spartan," and it seems a miracle that with so many seats, neither the kitchen nor the service are ever in a rush.
