An excellent Christmas lunch, with tagliolini in broth, roast goat with potatoes, and a selection of delicious desserts, each one better than the last. The only flaw was the excessive price: €80 for a fixed menu, to which no changes were possible. It didn't even include two glasses of wine, which were €10 each, compared to the average of €5-6 at other restaurants.

I ate very well. An excellent lukewarm seafood platter, fantastic spaghetti with clams, discreet and attentive white-gloved service, an interlude of traditional Neapolitan songs by a quiet, discreet yet talented guitarist... in short, a lovely evening topped off with a magnificent Calvados.

Intrigued by the flattering reviews I recently read on social media, taking advantage of the beautiful sunny day, I went to the La Cantinella restaurant on the Caracciolo seafront. I must confess that despite it being a historic restaurant with almost 50 years of history, I had never been there before. What can I say? Lunch went beyond my wildest expectations, but beyond the dishes that I will describe later, what struck me was that I felt like I was having lunch at home in a family environment with impeccable service and lots of nice people. Specifically, I was able to taste a battered Marzara del Vallo prawn followed by a fettucciella with scampi and a hint of lemon. To finish, for dessert, I did well to follow the maître Luciano, who recommended the house specialty, a vanilla and chocolate soufflé: a true ecstasy for the palate. I accompanied lunch with a delicate Greco di Tufo Benito Ferrara. I recommend everyone to go to La Cantinella in the hope of experiencing the same pleasant sensations!
