Courtesy and professionalism. A staple for years. Always a pleasure to return to the Cellar. Typical dishes also for vegetarians, suitable for any moment of the day, from breakfast to dinner or even just for a beer or a gentian. Top!

If the average of the restaurants in Prati di Tivo is more than good, the credit also and above all goes to this charming and welcoming restaurant which, thanks to the excellent cuisine and the affability of Valeria, is certainly one of the most sought-after places in this splendid location located at the foot of the Gran Sasso. Advantaged by the fact of being in the middle of the only square, this place offers both outdoor and indoor seating. Having been there in the summer, I tried both solutions and I had the opportunity to eat very well in both. Certainly head and shoulders above all there is the delicious sliced ​​beef, the fettuccine with venison ragù and the bean and potato soup.

After a very stressful journey due to the excessive heat and intense traffic, both on the motorway and along the local roads, we arrived in Prati di Tivo, clearly outside lunch time. My wife and I hadn't organized any sandwiches to follow other than just water to drink, simply because we were counting on a nice sandwich with porchetta, of the kind found along the road, in special vehicles of street vendors. Unfortunately for us, none of this. Having arrived in the only square called Amorocchi, it was just after 3pm, we looked around and the choice of La Cantina dell'Orso came to us spontaneously, hoping to still find something to refresh ourselves, our choice did not betray the our expectations. We found hospitality and full availability and immediately felt at home. We enjoyed an excellent platter, a nice cold beer, a homemade dessert and a coffee, all for two. Regardless of the location which offers a view over the entire square and beyond, the place is really very nice, furnished in a family style, and is managed by Valeria who welcomed us with kindness, courtesy, professionalism and a lot of friendliness. A day that certainly didn't start in the best way but which then took a decidedly better turn after arriving at La Cantina dell'Orso and meeting Valeria. In the end we had a short and pleasant conversation with her, which went beyond the usual formal pleasantries, on the local dynamics regarding a very good accommodation facility, sold and not yet reopened by the new owners. We truly felt at home and plan to return again on a next trip, hopefully soon, also to experience other culinary specialties. Advised. All opinions
