First time at this trattoria, discovered by chance, and what a pleasant surprise! The recently renovated restaurant is meticulously maintained and immediately exudes a sense of welcome and intimate warmth. The waiter—probably the owner—welcomed us with kindness and attentiveness, immediately putting us at ease. Service was prompt, the place clean, and the atmosphere relaxed. Special praise to the chef: the seafood bavette was simply divine. And the price? Unbeatable: €13 includes a first course, second course, side dish, water, wine, and coffee. We spent €15 for the small supplement on the bavette, but it was absolutely worth it. This trattoria is definitely worth a try. If I could give it 6 stars, I would!

This is a typical working man's restaurant. No frills, great food, low prices. There is a new menu everyday with a first course (typically pasta) second course (typically meat or fish) and a side dish ( vegetables or potatoes) with wine, water and coffee for a fix price of 13 euro. Highly recommend it if you want a true Italian restaurant experience. Outside the Lucca city center, a 28 minute walk or 5 minute drive.

I've been there three times, but today I was decidedly disappointed with the service (except for the innocent waitress). I asked for a large entree, paying extra, and was served a smaller portion, with paper bags recycled multiple times from other tables. I strongly advise against it; as far as I'm concerned, they've lost two customers who were growing fond of me, despite the negative word of mouth.

We were delighted to return here for dinner on Saturday evening. The dishes are always delicious, simple but made with passion and love for the local area. We were old customers of Bettola but we're delighted to return to this trattoria. The service is always attentive, without too many frills, just the way we like it. We'll be back for lunch too; highly recommended.
