A farewell to a retiring colleague brought us together for an evening of true gastronomic excellence. An elegant and refined setting, with colors and furnishings, and original appetizers, incredibly fresh and delicious. The bread on the table was excellent, as was the spaghetti, simple in its ingredients but extraordinary in its richness and flavor. The meats, too...the tenderness, flavor, and preparation won me over. The distant memory of the famous steakhouse in the Maccarese countryside, until recently an unrivaled comparison, has been far surpassed! Thanks to the owner and his staff, just one piece of advice: reconsider the "musical" background. A pounding techno beat, set at a volume that's certainly not background, is pervasive and hinders conversation. I suggest a soft jazz soundtrack, with saxophone and soft, light percussion perhaps more in keeping with the tone of the place.
