I'll start by saying that my review is based on an experience I had about three years ago, and I don't know if management has changed since then. I didn't review earlier out of respect for a couple of the employees I found lovely (but I haven't seen them since, so... let's post). I was a customer for several weeks, at breakfast, because, although I found the prices a bit exaggerated, the portions were appreciable (the cappuccino was almost as big as two in another bar) and the quality of the food was good (if there wasn't something you were looking for, the guys would make you something similar with what was left and what was in the kitchen to accommodate you as much as possible) until the day when, twice in the same day, a young lady with glasses (who however didn't look like the person who introduced herself as the owner at Bastianich, which is why I tell myself that perhaps the management changed because that young lady was acting like the owner) made me and the person with me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome by telling us that there were no free tables for breakfast (when there were at least 4, which the staff confirmed to us were free) and almost scolding me in the afternoon because I dared to go and pay immediately (there was no one there, I told myself to pay immediately in case there was a queue at the end (consumption) instead of ordering from one of the staff first. In short, I don't know if the management and/or the quality of the products have changed, but after years, I still have a terrible feeling of "unwelcome" in my heart, and I haven't been back, so I don't recommend it. Perhaps that young lady is still there and doesn't like someone else after me (making him feel as bad as she did me). Two stars only for the staff, who were, to say the least, adorable, back when I used to go there.
A small clarification following the owner's response:
It's not my habit to argue and/or go where I'm not welcome, and when that feeling is strongly expressed twice in the same day, I tend to slip away without making too much of a fuss and go elsewhere. I don't question the fact that your prices are as you say, but my rating is based on the average quality of the goods and my personal opinion that I spent a little over my budget (but that wasn't the problem, or I wouldn't have returned from the second visit onward). I don't think my only less than five-star review is a problem, since you're always so busy—and I'm happy for you and your staff. I wish you all the best in your work, and I'm very pleased that the person who made me feel so bad (that I never wanted to return) wasn't the owner, because I would have felt even worse. I'm adding one more star out of fairness. Peace and goodness to all.

I've been to this beautiful place several times, and it's always a guaranteed success. The desserts are homemade and delicious, while the savory items for lunch and aperitif are top-notch.
I highly recommend them.

Very nice place and welcoming staff.
Excellent quality products, both in the kitchen and in the pastries. It's always very busy, so I recommend making a reservation.
I'll definitely be back.

We were intrigued by the place after seeing it on Joe Bastianich's Foodish show—though this time, we didn't come for the famous pancakes.
The atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant: I really liked the use of neon lights inside, although I would have kept the background music a little lower. It's always nice to see a very young staff at work—very kind and smiling people, a truly great calling card.
Moving on to the food: I found the croissant a little too flaky for my taste. The toppings were generous, however: the pistachio was excellent, while the cream was less convincing: you could taste the flour slightly, and perhaps there was a bit too much vanilla. Overall, it was still pleasant. It's a shame about the pain au chocolat, which was completely lacking in chocolate, despite the pastry being good. The latte macchiato, on the other hand, was really good, and the staff member who asked us if we wanted a little cocoa on top was very nice.
I don't think I'll go back, though, especially since San Giuliano is a bit out of the way for me, but overall it was a good experience. The prices are very fair.

We were looking for brunch, and Google Maps suggested this nearby place. We weren't convinced because of the poor reviews, but we were happy to see that sometimes you have to make up your own mind. It's a very nice place, with a variety of well-presented brunch options, delicious French toast, decent toppings, friendly, young service, and prices in line with Milan's average. You might have to wait a bit to order, but if you consider that each tray is carefully curated and, above all, that the beauty of brunch is taking your time... you won't be disappointed! Go there!
