A formidable location. Dishes of unique goodness. Chef Andrea is constantly searching for authentic ingredients that make his dishes something special. The appetizers and first courses are excellent, outside of the usual menus. Try the famous "caramelle" with radicchio and scamorza... but the ravioli are also a must-try. The real specialty is the meat... the entrecôte is a must-try... and what about the desserts??? The berry cheesecake... simply sublime. La Baita in Saracinesco... once you know it, you'll fall in love with it.

Saracinesco is one of the smallest and most picturesque villages in Lazio. It was the location of the Samar festival, a cultural event that also saw the creation of three murals by international artists. In Saracinesco there is also the Museum of Time. Seven different stations that represent the main instruments of measuring time used in the past. In addition, I had been told about the Baita, a characteristic restaurant in the mountains. So I had the idea of ​​organizing a trip and eating in this place. The occasion was a birthday. The restaurant is a real hut. The name is not chosen by chance. The exterior is dominated by nature. The interior of the stone and wood hut is characterized by several well-furnished rooms. On the walls are trinkets, hats and trophies. Hanging animal horns. Paintings, little paintings. The food is delicious. Snack from the hut, fried eggplant meatballs, pappardelle with wild boar, an excellent sliced ​​​​scottona and sautéed chicory! A nice discovery, we will definitely return in the summer! The beautiful sunny day contributed to the success of the trip! Recommended!

Ho prenotato domenica 1 ora prima trovando posto. Luogo incantevole,personale cortese. Passiamo a cio' che interessa. Antipasto prosciutto,salame,ovoline etc etc non di pregio,pertanto da bypassare. Voto 5 Polpettine di melanzane discrete. 6,5 Cicoria,probabilmente troppo strizzata prima di andare in padella,quindi risulta asciutta e priva di umidita' che la renda morbida al palato voto 5; Pappardelle al cinghiale ottime ,magari 20 grammi in piu' sarebbe stato molto gradito voto 7; Agnolotti agli asparagi ottimi voto 7; Arrosticini capitolo a parte Ho preventivamente chiesto se fossero preparati sul prodotto risposta: "sulla carne alla brace siamo forti". Risultato? Arrosticini di pezzatura diverse alcuni troppo miseri rispetto ad altri(magari chi li produce destina al Vaticano quelli di misura standard) quindi cotti, oltre ed oltre il lecito, quindi secchi e difficili in masticazione. Mio errore ? non mandarli indietro subito. In fase di pagamento,avevo deciso di lasciar correre,ma la proprietaria ha chiesto se soddisfatti, ho dovuto dire quanto suesposto, la sua replica? " si c'e' stato un problema di distrazione", quindi sapevate cio' che portavate al tavolo,eppure nessuno scrupolo? A questo punto mi sarei aspettato un gesto di attenzione che non e' arrivato. Perdersi per 10 arrosticini? Ci vuole sensibilita' e lungimiranza se si vuole avere recensioni all'altezza, si devono meritare. Tirami su e Zuppa inglese ottimi voto 8 Vorrei mi rispondeste io sono stato onesto nel riferirlo. Potreste far meglioba partire dall'assunzione di responsabilita'. English: We had lunch: 1 appetizer, 1 portion of battered artichokes, 2 first courses, 2 second courses, 1 side dish, 1 quart of wine and 2 coffees: 47 euros per person!!!! Nice and welcoming place in the middle of nature, limited choice on the menu (2 out of 4 appetizers were frozen) and prices definitely above average for the offer proposed I would have considered it appropriate to pay no more than 35 euros!!!: I took a disappointing mixed appetizer (ordinary cold cuts accompanied by 2 supermarket mozzarella balls and 5 olives in a jar 15 euros... I would have expected a little more imagination, maybe a grilled vegetable or in oil or a good local aged cheese) good battered artichokes and agnolotti asparagus and bacon, good and well cooked arrosticini, just enough the sausage with the chop, average baked potatoes (we left them). I had much higher expectations given the reviews. When you wake up and the judgment on the quality of what you ate is a "NO" compared to the 47 euros paid, you have the certainty that there will not be a second time.

Ideal for an outdoor walk, beautiful view and good food a stone's throw from Rome, I recommend booking because there aren't many places and it's better.. Also beautiful in winter with the large fireplace lit.. located next to the town of Saracinesco, you have to travel a dirt road for a few hundred meters but still convenient to get there.. Structured like a Trentino hut, it obviously has ample parking..
