A must try while in Lecce. The "puccia" is a Puglia classic and this may be one of the most popular places where to try it.
The bread was perfect. I had the horse meat puccia and it was outstanding. I enjoyed every single bite of it. My girlfriend had the meatball one and it was really good too. Super filling lunch for just 8 EUR, and high quality ingredients. Also the staff is amazing: super kind and they transmit really good vibes!

Definitely a go-to place for the local speciality of puccia. It was a quiet night in May on our visit,I'm sure it's bouncing in high season. Highly recommend ed.

During my visit to Lecce I decided to try a typical Salento puccia from L'Angolino, a place known for this traditional dish. I chose the variant with turnips, sausage and dried tomatoes, intrigued by the rustic and tasty combination.
The puccia dough was very good, well leavened and fragrant, an excellent base that promised well. However, the overall result did not completely convince me. The turnips, abundant and very watery, made the peel excessively wet, compromising its consistency. Furthermore, the quantity of sausage was very minimal, so much so that it was almost imperceptible in the overall taste, despite it being the main ingredient of the filling.
A shame, because the ingredients themselves were of good quality, but the balance between the components would have deserved more attention.
From the reviews I had read, I had better expectations.

Recommended to try The «puccia leccese» (it is essentially a bread that is made with a variety of ingredients. First of all, the bread is baked strictly in a wood oven, it has a round shape, very large dimensions and a "smooth" surface, on which you can often see a thin layer of flour, and it can be filled with the "specialties already suggested on the menu" or to taste).
Puccia is a perfect specialty for takeout or even for more casual fast food restaurants.

Abbiamo volontariamente cercato questo piccolo locale collocato a 10 minuti circa dalla piazza principale poiché ben segnalato da altri viaggiatori. Non ci ha deluso: innanzitutto il,luogo è piacevole ed ampio(non si direbbe da fuori) poiché ha una capacità ricettiva su due piani; inoltre la puccia è veramente buona: il meglio è ovviamente il ripieno interno che è cucinato in modo familiare e gustoso. Sebbene i gusti siano vari, ciascuno è ben equilibrato. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.
