Kowalski In Genova

Last night was my first time; I fell in love with the place, the dishes, everything! The herring and Russian salad appetizer absolutely won me over! The selection is vast, and they pay great attention to everyone's needs (vegans, omnivores, basically, everyone can eat well here!). The portions are huge; I recommend choosing a few at a time to appreciate your selection even more. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try the vodkas because I'm pregnant, but I'll definitely be back as soon as I can because I'm really curious. If you've never been, give it a try! Kowalski is the perfect place to enjoy traditional Eastern European cuisine. I recommend the pierogi (traditional Polish potato-filled ravioli) accompanied by Barszcz (beetroot broth), and then I recommend trying their goulash. They also have a wide selection of vodka-based and flavored vodka cocktails. The atmosphere is charming and the staff are friendly.

Everything was delicious. The staff were very kind and helpful. I will definitely be back.

This was my first time eating at this restaurant, and I was very pleased. The place is beautiful and quaint. The dishes are absolutely delicious. Generous portions, well-seasoned, and of excellent quality. The meat deserves special mention, as it was very tender and flavorful. Before bringing our orders, they welcomed us with a complimentary meat pie. The young woman who served us was very kind and professional, asking us, after we'd ordered our dishes, if we had any allergies or intolerances to inform the kitchen (few do this). I also noticed this thoughtfulness in the thoughtfulness of repeatedly bringing us bread without us asking. Highly recommended!

What can I say? The perfect place. The owner is wonderful. The food is incredibly plentiful and truly delicious. A welcoming, clean, and original place. Perfect for winter evenings, ending with a shot of vodka.

A disappointment for me. I'd heard many good things about this restaurant. As a native Pole, I expected authentic Polish cuisine. The appetizer platter was terrible and pathetic. It consisted of a single slice of Polish sausage, when Poland has such a wide variety of wonderful sausages. What a shame. We had pierogi. The filling in the "Ruskie" was too creamy, and I suspect it was made with the "wrong" cream cheese. But charging €14 for five pierogi is really too much. I don't recommend this place.

A well-kept, beautiful place with typical Polish food, highly recommended!

We stopped by for brunch almost by chance and it was a super surprise. 100% recommended.
