Anyone looking for traditional food in the Ahrntal valley should definitely visit the Kohlgrube in Mühlen in Taufers. Authentic South Tyrolean cuisine – down-to-earth, regional, and absolutely delicious. For me, it's the best place for traditional dishes in the area. 😍

We had the pleasure of dining there today. Absolutely delicious!!! I give it 5 out of 5: the goulash was incredibly tender, the coleslaw was superb. My husband had the Viennese veal schnitzel: it was incredibly tender and tasty. The staff was very friendly and attentive. If you're ever in Mühlen auf Taufers, give this team a try!!

We organized a company dinner at this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. The cuisine is a true tribute to South Tyrolean tradition, but with a refined and contemporary interpretation. The chef deserves great credit for revisiting grandmother's recipes, maintaining their authenticity and robust flavors, yet presenting them with modern elegance. The portions are generous and satisfying, as you would expect from true mountain cuisine, and the quality of the ingredients is evident in every bite. The food is excellent, abundant and sincere. Completing the experience is the elegant presentation of the dishes, with attention to detail, demonstrating great care for the guest. A perfect balance between rustic tradition and refinement, it will win over both those seeking time-honored flavors and those who appreciate a touch of creativity. I will definitely return, without a second thought. Highly recommended for those who want to savor the authenticity of South Tyrol in an elegant setting.

Restaurant with superb traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, featuring dishes just like Grandma used to make. We had a really delicious meal. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. We'll definitely be back.

The kitchen has recently reopened, open Wednesday through Sunday. The menu is small, but the dishes are excellent. I've already tried several things... Daniel in the kitchen is doing a great job. Kudos!
