The following is a summary of Sangkuriang's story: The beginning: Sangkuriang was the son of Dayang Sumbi who was abandoned and then raised by a wild boar. Reunion: Sangkuriang grew into a dashing and powerful young man, and without realizing it he returned to his birthplace and fell in love with Dayang Sumbi, whom he considered a beautiful woman. Marriage Conditions: Dayang Sumbi, who realized that Sangkuriang was her son, refused to marry him and gave conditions that were impossible to fulfill, namely building a lake and a boat overnight. Failure: Sangkuriang tried hard to fulfill these requirements with the help of supernatural beings, but Dayang Sumbi managed to thwart this plan in various ways.
